Loptous (Japanese: ロプトウス Loputousu) is a regalia dark tome which was introduced in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. It is the unholy weapon which channels the power of the sinister earth dragon Loptyr and is wielded by those who carry his bloodline. The tome bestows upon its wielder protection from the full effect of damage against it, only able to be subverted by the power of the divine dragon Naga.
History
This tome was created as part of the blood bond between the bishop Galle and the earth dragon Loptyr, in the former's quest for power. It provides its wielder with immense power in exchange for being possessed by Loptyr himself. It was the property of the successive seventeen Emperors of the Loptyr Empire across its two hundred years of existence, the first being Galle himself, all used as Loptyr's vessels. The last Emperor, Galle XVII, did not reproduce before his death and the fall of the Empire at the hands of the Twelve Crusaders, when the dark protection of the tome was pierced by the power of the Book of Naga wielded by Saint Heim, the only weapon able to pierce Loptyr's power.[1]
Over a century later, Manfroy of the Loptyrians took advantage of this to successfully breed Arvis and Deirdre, the two current bearers of the bloodline, spawning the full-blooded Julius as the prince of the continent-spanning Grannvale Empire. At some point in Julius's childhood eleven years after the Battle of Belhalla, Manfroy gave Julius the Loptyr tome as his inheritance; Loptyr's influence through it instantly corrupted him, prompting him to attempt to kill his sister Julia, a bearer of full Naga blood. From there, he seized control of Grannvale from his father, and as the spirit of Loptyr slowly took full possession him over the years he perverted the empire's course slowly into a reconstruction of the Loptyr Empire. By the time Seliph's liberation army came to confront him at Belhalla, Loptyr had finally achieved full possession of Julius, with the tome's power proving near-impossible to fight until Julia found the Book of Naga and used it against him.

Fire Emblem Cipher
Loptyr is present as a skill on one card in Fire Emblem Cipher: B08-097SR Shadow-Bearing Imperial Prince, Julius. It is a manual-activation skill which allows the player to, for the cost of flipping one bond card face-down, choose one of their opponent's bond cards and flip it face-down as well. This can contribute to activating Julius's other skill, "Seal of Darkness", which increases his attack power when all bond cards belonging to the opponent are face-down.

The great dragon Naga, strongest of them all, bestowed their own blood upon the leader of the liberation army, the priest Heim. Naga knew only their power could possibly hope to stand against that of Loptyr.
Seliph: So nobody else among the dragonkin would be able to prevail against Loptyr?
Lewyn: It certainly wouldn't be easy, I think. Even if you had every last dragon fighting together, they'd still need Naga's power." — Lewyn and Seliph, Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War
