Worth is a basic monetary value applied to weapons and items in the Fire Emblem series, measured in the in-game currency of gold pieces. A weapon or item's base worth is, by default, the price in gold for which it is purchased by the player at armories, shops and other retail establishments in the game. The value is also used in calculations to determine the price for which a previously owned or used weapon can be sold back to shops. The worth of a weapon is not displayed in status menus with the rest of its stats, and can only be viewed in shops when attempting to buy the weapon in question.
Calculations
Sell price
An untouched weapon which has not had its durability depleted will, with limited exceptions, sell for half its raw worth at any shop. As a weapon's durability depletes through it being used in battle, its sell price also decreases directly proportional to how many uses the weapon has remaining.
This calculation also applies for selling a weapon to a pawn shop in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, where it can be re-bought by any unit in the army to transfer it to their inventory; the calculation for purchase price for a used weapon is the same as the sell price calculation, except it does not divide the rest of the calculation by 2.
The sell price calculation is irrelevant in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, in which items cannot be sold, and in Fire Emblem Gaiden, which has no worth stat, no shops and no weapon durability, with weapons being procured in finite quantities solely from treasure chests or drops by enemies.
Durability does not exist in Fates, so most items simply sell for half their worth.
In Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, items cannot be purchased at shops, and so the sell price of an unforged item is the same as its worth stat. Sell price factors in forging status, so a forged item will sell for a higher price.

All relevant games except Fates and Shadows of Valentia |
(Worth / total durability × current remaining durability) / 2 | Certain items in Shadow Dragon, New Mystery of the Emblem and Awakening will sell for (Worth/Durability × remaining uses / 4) gold instead. |
Fates | Worth / 2 | Certain items will sell for (Worth/4) gold instead. |
style="Template:Roundbl; border: 1px solid #b0b0b0; background: #222222; text-align: center" | Shadows of Valentia | Worth + (amount spent on forging / 2) | style="Template:Roundbr; border: 1px solid #b0b0b0; background: #222222; text-align: center" | Fractions are rounded down (such that if, for example, only 1 Gold Mark has been invested, none are received if the item is sold). |
Repair cost
Exclusive to Genealogy of the Holy War, worth is part of the calculation used to determine the cost to repair a weapon in the weapon repair shops located in the game's castles. Similar to sell prices, the weapon repair cost is derived from the weapon's remaining durability, and thus the number of uses which need to be repaired.

---|---|---|
style="Template:Roundbl; border: 1px solid #b0b0b0; background: #222222; text-align: center" | Genealogy of the Holy War | (Worth / total durability) × (total durability − current remaining durability) | style="Template:Roundbr; border: 1px solid #b0b0b0; background: #222222; text-align: center" | The repair cost is halved for units who possess the Bargain skill. |
- Example: The Brave Lance has 50 uses and is worth 8,000G. Suppose it was repaired with only 12 uses remaining; the price of the repair would be calculated thus:
(8,000 / 50) × (50 − 12) = 6,080
Thus, the fee to repair the Brave Lance is 6,080G.
