Template:Character Raven, known as Leyvan (レイヴァン, Reivan) in Japan, given name Raymond, is a playable character in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. He is a mercenary with a grudge against House Ostia.
Role
Raven is a cold young man who originally was known as Lord Raymond of Cornwell. He and his sister Priscilla got separated after House Cornwall got destroyed by Ostia. He then became a mercenary, intent on revenge for his fallen house. He joins Eliwood/Hector's army to get close enough to Hector to exact vengeance.
Eliwood/Hector's story
Raven is available for recruitment in Chapter 16 of Eliwood's story, and Chapter 17 in Hector's. In Eliwood's chapter, Raven will remain in one spot until a unit enters his range. By speaking to him with Priscilla, he will join your party. It is advised to do this as quickly as possibly, as the Caelin soldiers have a chance of either killing Raven, or being killed by him.
In Hector's chapter, Raven will move alongside the Laus soldiers. This eliminates the need to rush toward him with Prisilla, but also risks him killing a player unit or he himself being killed in a counterattack.
He joins Eliwood/Hector's army to get close enough to Hector to get revenge on House Ostia. Through Priscilla or Lucius' support conversations, however, Raven will give up his lust for vengeance.

Personality and character
After abandoning his given name, Raven becomes introverted and cold, and appears distant to everyone, even his sister. In his various support conversations with Priscilla, Lucius, Wil, Rebecca, and Bartre, however, Raven's personality begins to open up, and he becomes a bit more personable. Lucius in particular lessens Raven's grudge against House Ostia, easing the hard-eyed mercenary of a burden that had weighed down upon him.

Etymology
"Raymond" is a masculine name with usage in English and French. It comes from the Germanic name Raginmund, composed of the elements ragin "advice" and mund "protector". This name was introduced to England by the Normans in the form Reimund. It was borne by several medieval (mostly Spanish) saints, including Saint Raymond Nonnatus and Saint Raymond of Peñafort.[1]
"Raven" is a masculine or feminine name with English roots. It is taken from the bird of the same name, which is revered by several Native American groups of the west coast and is also associated with the Norse god Odin.[2]
