Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade

From Fire Emblem Wiki, your source on Fire Emblem information. By fans, for fans.

Template:GameInfo Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword (ファイアーエムブレム 烈火の剣, Faiā Emuburemu Rekka no Ken, literally Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword), or known simply as Fire Emblem outside of Japan, is the seventh game in the Fire Emblem series, the second game in the series to be released on the Game Boy Advance, and first in the series to be released outside of Japan. Blazing Sword is a prequel to Template:FEFT, featuring Roy's father, Eliwood, and two other major characters, Lyn and Hector.

Plot

In Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword, the player takes the role of a tactician who guides the armies of Lyn and later Eliwood and Hector to victory. At the start of the game, the tactician's name, month of birth, and gender. For this plot synopsis, the tactician's default name, Mark, will be used.

Lyn's story

Mark wakes up in a house in the Sacae to find a teenage girl. She introduces herself as Lyn of the Lorca tribe. Suddenly, bandits appear, and Lyn goes to stop them. Mark joins her as a tactician, and he and Lyn defeat the bandits. The next morning, she asks to travel with him. Lyn says her parents died when bandits attacked; she is the last of the Lorca tribe. She asks Mark to let her travel with him so she can avenge her father's death. Mark accepts, and they set off towards the town of Bulgar for supplies.

In Bulgar, Lyn meets the womanizing cavalier Sain and his more serious partner Kent, both knights of Caelin, in the country Lycia. She is attacked by bandits, and Sain and Kent go to her aid. After the battle, Sain and Kent inform Lyn, whose real name is revealed as Lyndis, that her dead mother Madelyn was the daughter of the marquess of Caelin, making her next in line as marquess. The bandits were sent by Lundgren, the marquess's younger brother, who wants to be marquess, but Lyn is in his way. Therefore, Lyn's life is in danger; they decide to go to Caelin to prove that she is alive. On the way, they go to a shrine to pray for a safe journey when the shrine is attacked. They defeat the attacking bandits, and Lyn is allowed to hold the sacred sword, the Mani Katti. It begins to glow and she takes it out, meaning the sword's spirits have chosen her; the priest allows her to take the sword.

On the way to Caelin, Lyn sees her friend, the shy pegasus knight Florina, being bullied by bandits. The bandits start a fight, in which an archer named Wil also joins Lyn. The group then stops at a small fort, in which they meet Natalie, a woman who is looking for her husband Dorcas. Bandits surround the fort, including Dorcas, who had joined the bandits to pay for Natalie's illness. Lyn convinces Dorcas to join her side, and after the bandits retreat, he decides to travel with Lyn. As Lyn approaches the border of Lycia and Sacae, another fight breaks out - she meets the serious mage Erk who is escorting the talkative cleric Serra; both join Lyn after the fight.

During this time, Lundgren has been poisoning the marquess and sending troops to kill Lyn. Lyn goes to the town of Araphen, whose marquess is willing to help. Suddenly, the castle is set on fire. Lyn is attacked, but a nomad named Rath of the Kulotah tribe saves her. During the battle, a thief named Matthew joins Lyn. They save the marquess, but he is unwilling to help Lyn because of her Sacae blood. She angrily refuses his help. Rath also ends his service to the marquess and joins Lyn.

In Kathelet, Lyn runs into a strange boy, Nils, who requests her help to get his sister Ninian back from a shady organization, called the Black Fang. Although he cannot fight, he is a bard who can play music to refresh allies, letting them move again. A monk named Lucius joins Lyn as well. They manage to defeat the Black Fang's forces and find Eliwood, the son of the marquess of Pherae, who has Ninian. They thank him, but Ninian, a dancer, has lost her ring, Ninis' Grace. Lyn and the others go to get the ring back from the Black Fang in a side chapter.

After defeating them, they run into a man named Eliwood who carries Ninian to them. Thanking him, Lyn and the group decide to press forward to Caelin. They defeat the usurper and manage to save Lyn's grandfather, ending Lyndis's story.
