A Girl from the Plains (Japanese: 草原の少女 Girl of the Plains) is the prologue of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. In this chapter, the player learns the basics about moving, fighting, and leveling up.
Plot
- Main article: A Girl from the Plains/Script
A girl named Lyn finds a person unconscious in the plains of Sacae, takes them in and nurtures them back to health. Shortly after the person regains consciousness, bandits arrive to raid the local villages. Lyn and her patient, the latter of whom is revealed to be a tactician by trade, defeat the bandits.
The next morning, Lyn asks to travel with the tactician and explains that her parents and her people - the Lorca - were killed by bandits six months prior. Lyn wants to become stronger so that she may avenge the death of her people. The tactician is swayed by Lyn's passion and allows her to accompany them on their travels. Lyn promises to be the tactician's peerless warrior and the two set off on their journey.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.
|
The first unit you recruit in the game is the lord, Lyn. She performs well in her own tale due to an abundance of inaccurate brigands, but later on her Strength is shaky and her durability is terrible, hampering her offensive prowess.
When playing on Normal mode, this chapter is a scripted tutorial. The game will guide the player though every step and explain the basic mechanics of the game including movement, attacking, healing, and seizing the throne. Every player will get the same result, and death is impossible.
On Hard mode, this chapter is no longer a tutorial, and victory is not guaranteed. However, the level is still simple enough to beat using a series of steps if you're not concerned about ranking. First, move towards the brigand - he will not be in range to attack you next phase. Then, move towards the boss, Batta, and ignore the brigand. The brigand will attack next phase, and there is a chance Lyn will be hit. If Lyn is hit then move in front of Batta and use a Vulnerary; otherwise, simply move in front of Batta and wait. It is important that you do not immediately attack the boss, or else there is a possibility of losing Lyn. Batta and the brigand will attack next phase and Lyn will kill the brigand. If you were hit by either enemy then use another Vulnerary; otherwise, wait another turn. Batta will attack again, but will also be one hit away from death. Attack the next turn and then seize the throne. If you want to S-rank Lyn's mode, you want to complete the map as fast as possible and avoid using your Vulnerary. This means you need a little luck to ensure you dodge the axemen's attacks, and you're going to have to attack Batta on turn 3 to kill him as fast as possible. Done optimally, this map can be completed in 5 turns.
Trivia
The scripted prologue after resetting.
- When playing on normal mode, there is a glitch that freezes the game. After letting the chapter guide the player through with the scripted events, reset the game after Batta is killed on the next player phase, when Lyn begins to talk. Upon resuming, the game glitches and Lyn vanishes from the map.
- The map used for this chapter is a cropped and edited version of the map used in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade's Tutorial, though in-universe these are not the same locations.
