Etymology
"Serra" is a feminine name derived from "Sarah," a name used in English, French, German, Hebrew, Arabic, and Biblical Hebrew. "Sarah" means "lady" or "princess" in Hebrew. This was the name of the wife of Abraham in the Old Testament, who became the mother of Isaac at the age of 90. In England, Sarah came into use after the Protestant Reformation.[1]
