Warren joins in Chapter 2 as a level 2 Hunter, and unfortunately has little going for him. His bases are inferior across the board to Gordin's, who joined either one or five chapters prior; he is notably the only one of the player's four potential bowmen (the others being Gordin, a modestly trained Ryan, and a reclassed Arran) who cannot one-shot enemy Dracoknights in Chapters 2 and 3 with a 12 might bow. His growths are decent, with notable high marks in Strength and Skill, but are all equal or inferior to Ryan's, who has had eight and a half chapters to pull ahead of him. There is also little incentive to invest in him anyway, as he joins right around the time that some of the best units in the game (for example, Catria and Palla) join and deployment slots are at a premium. The player also gets Linde at the end of his join chapter, who can cover his two range niche while hitting on enemy Resistance and countering at one range. With all of these overwhelming problems, Warren has little to make him stand out and earn one of the player's precious deployment slots. If the player is willing to invest the extra resources to make him work, it's certainly doable, but overall he can be described as painfully average. | |||

- In Mystery of the Emblem, promotion gains for HP and weapon level consist of giving the character as many points as necessary—the "x" value shown in the table—to reach the promoted class's base value. If the character's value for one of those two stats is higher than their promoted class's base value, they will not receive any bonus in that stat.
