Lord Leif, this river has traditionally been easy to defend and difficult to conquer. The Empire will be sending in its strongest forces to maintain this defense point. This battle will be the toughest yet... Be very careful.
Units are arranged based on their position in deployment order after Leif.
When a player unit crosses the river to the east bank (acts within columns 21–30, rows 1–23), the western bridge is removed and Reinhardt and the Gelb Ritter begin to move unprovoked.
Stats with two figures separated by a ~ are presented as a range, representing stats that vary due to random growths. The figures to the left and right of the ~ are the stat's minimum and maximum possible values respectively.
Authority: Cohen; ★★★★★ Action: ★★★★★ • Does not initiate combat against Olwen. • Moves to attack units in range. • Once a unit crosses the river (acts within columns 21–30, rows 1–23), begins moving unprovoked.
Authority: Cohen • Moves to attack units in range. • Once a unit crosses the river (acts within columns 21–30, rows 1–23), begins moving to be next to Reinhardt; moves to escape east once Reinhardt is defeated.
Authority: Cohen; ★★★★★★★★★★ Action: ★★★ • Not present during preparations. • Cannot be captured. • Does not move. • Leaves the map on turn 40, after a unit enters the 5×5 square area centered on his starting position (columns 26–30, rows 2–6), or if Cohen is defeated.
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.
The ideal strategy for this chapter, as with most in Thracia's lategame, is to use Warp to complete the chapter in one turn. You will need at least four uses of Warp and three units with an A-rank in staves, and it is also advisable to bring Tina to steal Cohen's Berserk staff. Tina will need at least 13 magic to steal Berserk, so you will most likely need another staff user with Magic Up. Warp units to the southwest and southeast houses, as they contain a Warp and Rescue staff, respectively. Warp a mage with high hit rate to the castle to kill Cohen, as he has 94 avoid and 25 defense, but only 12 magic. He cannot counterattack as he starts with Blizzard equipped. Asbel with Grafcalibur is guaranteed to one-round Cohen if he hits his second attack. Warp Leif onto the castle and finish the chapter.
Alternatively, use Tina's Thief staff to steal Cohen's Master Lance. Then, warp a flying unit and have them capture him. Either rescue that unit away, or end their turn next to the throne so that Leif can take Cohen's Blizzard, Berserk, and Restore and seize on the same turn.
