“ | I looked everywhere for you, but I could never find you... And my hands are far too stained with blood... I thought it best that you forgot about me. | ” | — Galzus |

(ガルザス Galzus) is the prince of House Rivough in Isaach, a cousin of Prince Shanan of Isaach through his mother - the eldest child of King Mananan - and a full-blooded heir of the Crusader Odo. During the Grannvale-Isaach war of Grann 757, Galzus fled Rivough with his daughter Mareeta when King Mananan attacked Rivough in retributiou for the Rivough attack on Darna, and became a mercenary. He was separated from Mareeta and eventually entered the service of Duke Raydrik of Manster.
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
Role
Under Raydrik's employment, Galzus worked as a guard at Manster Castle, and was tasked with pursuing Leif and the Magi as they fled imprisonment in the castle. He nonetheless secretly defied Raydrik to release Mareeta from her own imprisonment, entrusting her care to Saias while he remained in Raydrik's service, although he refused to explain his true motives for doing so to Saias.[1]
When Leif later returned, leading his liberation army to storm Manster, Galzus still acted as one of Raydrik's mercenaries. He was approached by Mareeta, who had experienced a dream during her possession which revealed his identity as her father. At her behest, he joined Leif's army to help save Eyvel, Mareeta's adoptive mother.
Starting stats and growth rates
Enemy (Ch.5) Enemy (Ch.6) Playable
Galzus first appears as an enemy optionally in Chapter 5. He arrives as a reinforcement from the central arena gate if four of the arena enemies have already been killed at the beginning of the next enemy phase; it is possible to complete the chapter without triggering his arrival. He is also an enemy reinforcement in Chapter 6, arriving at the beginning of the 15th enemy phase. In both of these appearances, it is impractical to fight him as his stats vastly surpass those of all units playable at the time, and his presence is likely intended as more of a warning to hurry one's escape.
Galzus later re-appears as an enemy in Chapter 24, and in this chapter he can be recruited.
Personality and character
Galzus attempts to hide his emotions by establishing himself as stoic and distant, but he still cares about the people important to him and his family.[2] Despite the effort he put into trying to find Mareeta after her abduction by the slave traders, once he realized he was never going to do so, he came to believe Mareeta would be better off without having a murderous figure such as himself in his life.[3] Once he reunited with Mareeta and her adoptive mother, Eyvel, he felt it was best to leave Mareeta in Eyvel's care with the promise of visiting her in Fiana once per year at Eyvel's request.[4] According to Mareeta, she remembers Galzus prior to her separation from him as being gentle and kind in addition to his great strength.[5]

Galzus: No... That's not the case.
Saias: ...I see. It is a rather large burden for one traveling alone, but I shall take care of her nonetheless. Eyvel: Yes, of course. Mareeta is my daughter now... I wouldn't give her back to you even if you asked.
Galzus: I see... Once this battle ends, I'll be going off on my travels once more. I doubt we'll ever meet again.
Eyvel: Galzus... I have just one thing to ask of you.
Galzus: What is it? I'll be happy to do anything that I can...
Eyvel: Would you stop by Fiana Village just once a year? That's all I ask..." — Galzus and Eyvel, Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 - ↑ "I was still little when I was separated from my father, but I still remember him. He was strong, kind, and gentle... Galzus...
