There are two ways to tackle this chapter: by heading through the north passage with infantry and Karin, or through the south with cavalry. The four units defending mansion are all unable to fend for themselves for long, with Selphina being the only one able to reliably one-round enemies. Be careful about [[Merlock]], as he has high bulk, speed, and strength, making it devastating to face him unprepared. [[Asbel]] can easily kill him with Grafcalibur if he needs to, but because of how attack speed is subtracted by tome weight without factoring constitution, Merlock's 14 speed is just high enough that Asbel cannot double him even with capped speed. If you wish to deploy [[Carrion]] to obtain the [[Paragon Sword]] from [[Selphina]], do take care to keep him out of range of Thracia's dragon riders. Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
There are two ways to tackle this chapter: by heading through the north passage with infantry and Karin, or through the south with cavalry. Having played through a few escape chapters already, one may consider deploying a few cavalry units and hoping for the best. The four units defending mansion are all unable to fend for themselves for long, with Selphina being the only one able to reliably one-round enemies. Be careful about Merlock, as he has high bulk, speed, and strength, making it devastating to face him unprepared. Asbel can easily kill him with Grafcalibur if he needs to, but because of how attack speed is subtracted by tome weight without factoring constitution, Merlock's 14 speed is just high enough that Asbel cannot double him even with capped speed. If you wish to deploy Carrion to obtain the Paragon Sword from Selphina, do take care to keep him out of range of Thracia's dragon riders. The four dragon riders all have Killer Lances, so take them down as quickly as possibile and be sure to give all your Crusader Scrolls to Karin and deliver them to Selphina and her knights so that they don't get one-shot by critical hits. Also, watch out for Selphina's Accost skill: if she gets attacked by an ememy with less AS and HP than her, there will be an extra round of combat, and being an Arch Knight with low durability, she will be in a potential fatal situation when someone attacks her, especially at close range, so make sure to keep her out of enemy range. Selphina's knights all have support bonuses with her and there are forests close to where they start, so make sure to increase their avoid in anyway you can.
One final thing: don't let a single enemy unit reach the escape point, or it's an automatic Game Over. Fortunately, the escape point is a gate, and grants +30% avoid and +10 defense, meaning that almost any unit stationed on it will be able to take hits from enemies.
