Plot
- Main article: The Banner of Njörun/Script
Leif's forces enter the mountainous area surrounding Hannibal's villa, heading toward the villa to meet the Leonster nobility hiding inside. They are spotted by Altena, Travant and Merlock, the latter of whom Travant sends to deal with the intruders on the mistaken assumption that Leif's soldiers are bandits. The knights in Hannibal's villa notice the Thracian army moving in, and some of them rush out to protect the villa, namely Alva, Cain, Robert and Selphina. Leif and his advisor August then notice the Thracian forces and August urges Leif to rush toward the villa, since he assumes that the knights in the villa have been found out and the Thracian forces intend to dispose of them.
The battle begins, and upon its conclusion, Leif meets Duke Dryas at the villa. Dryas tells Leif that he had sent Glade to Tarrah, and Glade informed him that the Empire intends to mount an all-out assault on the city. The duke declares that they must go to Tarrah and support its defense. In the meantime, Altena calls off the attacking Thracian forces, declaring that the "intruders" are not bandits, but mercenaries meant to protect Hannibal's villa.

There are two ways to tackle this chapter: by heading through the north passage with infantry and Karin, or through the south with cavalry. Having played through a few escape chapters already, one may consider deploying a few cavalry units and hoping for the best. The four units defending mansion are all unable to fend for themselves for long, with Selphina being the only one able to reliably one-round enemies. Be careful about Merlock, as he has high bulk, speed, and strength, making it devastating to face him unprepared. Asbel can easily kill him with Grafcalibur if he needs to. If you wish to deploy Carrion to obtain the Paragon Sword from Selphina, do take care to keep him out of range of Thracia's dragon riders.
One final thing: don't let a single enemy unit reach the escape point, or it's an automatic Game Over. Fortunately, the escape point is a gate, and grants +30% avoid and +10 defense, meaning that almost any unit stationed on it will be able to take hits from enemies.
