Amalda is an asset to any player. She can also wield the Paragon Sword (if it is still around) while using staves to double her experience gain, but while her growth rates are overall good she will need a Crusader Scroll if she wants more magic due to a poor 15% growth. While some of her base stats are mediocre for her join time, she is greatly aided by her excellent weapon levels. With A-rank swords at base, she gains access to all kinds of swords, for example the Meisterschwert she joins with. The most notable use of her sword rank is giving her a magic sword for reliable and strong 1–2 range attacks, which is especially useful against late-game magic users.
==Personality | |||
As a female Paladin, Amalda gets access to staves. While she cannot use every staff with her base C staff rank, it gives her access to many useful staves, including the Sleep staff, the most versatile status staff in the game, and with her high magic base, she can put those staves to great use. Unlike other staff users, Amalda is capable of wielding the Flame Sword at base, which gives her an effective base 18 magic. While other staff users can reach or beat her 18 magic with the Flame Sword, if she levels up magic 3 times, she can exceed the cap without needing a Pure Water or Magic Up. Since enemies who fall asleep pose no threat to your army anymore and can easily be killed or captured, this is one of the most reliable ways to neutralize any dangerous enemy you might have trouble to deal with. Furthermore, if she has 19 magic, she can status Canis on turn 1 in Endgame if another ally Ensorcels her, a feat other staff users cannot replicate without both an Ensorcel boost and a magic floor (all of which are in enemy-filled rooms.
Aside her staff utility, Amalda also possesses great mobility in both outdoor and indoor chapters thanks to her extra point of movement. She can also take and drop as well as capture units in the few outdoor chapters left, and barely even minds the dismount penalty in indoor chapters since it doesn't affect her weapon levels or magic at all. Amalda also has a small but notable contribution of an Authority star, giving every allied unit on the field an extra three percent hit and avoid, which helps to offset the dodginess of late-game enemies a bit.
All in all, Amalda is a quite useful unit that is both good at fighting and using staves without any investment.
