Strategy

Don't be too intimidated by the fog of war; selecting a unit to move will still show their respective movement path, so putting a unit like Eyvel in the front can help with showing the way. The enemies in this chapter are also weak for the most part, so it is a good opportunity to train up units.
The sand at the start means that Leif, Eyvel, and Dagdar will be well ahead of the pack unless the player slows down. This map has two torches that can be found on two forts on the central island, which can be obtained by whatever units are not needed to assist Leif in seizing the gate.
Be sure to capture Lifis with a unit with high constitution and simply seize the throne with Leif. Also, leave Shiva alone; the only reason to fight him is for his Killing Edge, but doing so is very difficult thanks to the fort he stands on and his speed and crit rate, and capturing him will likely require more weapon uses than the Killing Edge has. If the player does this, they must not kill or release him, or he will not be recruitable later on.
Trivia
- This is the first chapter in the Fire Emblem series to feature fog of war.
