Conventional Fighters are defined by their immense strength, also possessing significant HP. However, their other defensive stats are lacking in comparison to other classes (including a typically weak resistance stat for a physical unit), usually causing them to be somewhat frail despite the relative longevity afforded by their sheer amount of HP. Furthermore, they typically have subpar skill and speed, which, combined with the low hit and high weight of axes, limits Fighters' accuracy, evasiveness, and ability to follow up. Compared to the "criminal" axe-wielding Pirate, Brigand, Barbarian, and Bandit, Fighters often have lower HP and speed, but better skill, luck, defense, and resistance. In Fates, Fighters possess high skill and speed, but have even lower defense and resistance; compared to the Oni Savage of Hoshido, Fighters are superior in strength, skill, speed, and luck, but inferior in magic, defense, and resistance. | Conventional Fighters are defined by their immense strength, also possessing significant HP. In Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light and Mystery of the Emblem, Fighters are incapable of promotion. The Binding Blade introduced the Warrior as the de facto promotion option of the Fighter class, which persisted throughout much of the rest of the series. In The Sacred Stones and Awakening, which feature multiple class change options, Fighters have the choice of promoting to their normal advanced option of the Warrior, or the Mercenary's normal advanced option of the Hero; additionally, in the former, the trainee Journeyman class can promote to Fighter (or, alternately, to Pirate). In Fates, the Berserker replaces the Warrior as one of the Fighter's promotion options. | In Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light and Mystery of the Emblem, Fighters are incapable of promotion. The Binding Blade introduced the Warrior as the de facto promotion option of the Fighter class, which persisted throughout much of the rest of the series. - This page is about the axe-wielding class. For the personal class belonging to Alm, see Fighter (Gaiden).
- Not to be confused with Axe Fighter, which is called "Fighter" in some fan translations.

The Fighter (Japanese: 戦士 Fighter) is a basic class which debuted in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light and is present in most titles in the Fire Emblem series. In almost every appearance it makes, it is a common infantry class which exclusively wields axes. In Three Houses, this class also specializes in bows and gauntlets.
