The King Daein (Japanese: デイン国王 King of Dayne) is an advanced flying class which appears only in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. This class is exclusive to Ashnard, the titular king of Daein and the game's final boss, and is similar to a more powerful version of the playable Wyvern Lord class, riding a Black Dragon mount. The class is enemy-only in the main story, but becomes a playable class in the game's Trial Map mode when Ashnard himself is unlocked as the final bonus character. The class has access to swords and axes, although in the main story Ashnard will only ever use a single sword, Gurgurant.

The King Daein class is extremely powerful with by far the highest maximum stats in the game, and while some classes - mainly laguz - may equal it in a single stat, none come close to it overall (only Red Dragons have a higher single maximum stat than this class, namely strength). Compounding this is how, owing to the blessed armor Ashnard wears in the story, the class possesses a hidden skill that renders him completely impervious to damage from all but a small few attacks; only Ike with Ragnell, Nasir, Ena, Tibarn, Naesala, and Giffca are able to damage Ashnard. Fighting Ashnard is an extended game of attrition, where the player's capable units must slowly chip away at him while having their HP recovered, with the easiest way to defeat him - Ike activating Aether to bypass Ashnard's monstrous defense stat - relying on sheer luck.
