Seasoned Armored Axes, now promoted to General.

Unit type(s)

The Axe General (Japanese: 斧武将グレートドゥクス Great Dux) is a class only found in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, which uses axes as well as swords. They can promote to the Marshall class, and theoretically a member of the Armor Axe class would become an axe general; however, there are no playable armor axes. Comparable classes are the Sword General and Lance General classes.

Axe generals have quite high stats, since they act as promoted classes. They have high strength and defense with good resistance, but as most axe-using classes do, they lack in skill. Also, they have below-average speed. These weaknesses do not prevent them from succeeding as sturdy front-line units in an army, and they appear often as enemies. The only playable axe general is Brom.

Axe General

Axe General. A general is a high-ranking military unit.

Officially romanized as Great Dux; literally "Axe General". In Radiant Dawn, all Japanese class names are spelled primarily in kanji (i.e. 斧武将), with a foreign-language name in katakana applied as furigana (i.e. グレートドゥクス) and used as the basis for the romanized name in the class roll. Dux is Latin for "commander" (later coming to mean "duke").

Général hache

Axe General. Abbreviated to Gén. hache in gameplay due to space restrictions.
