“ | I'm confident that we'll win in the end... But I just don't know that I'll make it home. | ” | — Lot to Echidna in a support conversation. |

Lot (Japanese: ロット Lot), also romanized as Lott, is a playable character in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. He first appears in Chapter 2. He is a man from the Western Isles, and part of Dieck's mercenary group. He has a younger sister, Myu, whom he had to leave in Wade's sister's care while he traveled to the continent for a job.
Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
Role
Lot is a member of a group of mercenaries led by Dieck, which also includes Shanna and Wade. Previous to the game's events, he left his home in search of work. Wade's sister, Mary, offered to take care of his ailing mother and his sister. However, Lot's mother did not survive her illness.
Lord Eliwood, the marquess of Pherae, hires Dieck's mercenary group to help Roy on his perilous journey. In Chapter 2, Lot and the rest of the band appear and join in the battle. After the battle, Lot stays with Roy for the rest of his quest.
When the Lycian Army is fighting bandits in the Western Isles, they come across a small village. If Wade and Lot visit certain houses, their sisters will come and talk to them, giving them Speedwings and a Swordreaver to help them in battle.
After Bern is defeated and the war is over, he returns to the Western Isles and marries Mary. He leads a happy life, but rarely talks about his role in the war.

Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Lot can have his usefulness judged based on whether the player is looking to use an Axe fighter early on in Binding Blade or not. If a player seeks to use one to handle the early game Soldiers and Knights leading into the Western Isles, players will find themselves enjoying a fairly average stat-wise Axe fighter unlike that of his best friend Wade, who is more similar to ones such as Dorcas and Garcia. He specializes towards having a very strong 40% Defense growth and improved HP, Speed, and Resistance growths, alongside a higher Skill and Speed stat at base, while Wade excels in Given a few levels of EXP he can start doubling fairly well after his 7 base grows, which may not occur with an iffy 35% growth. He also will become a solid tank against mid-game Axe fighters, and may double them as well.
However, should a player not be searching for an early game Axe fighter and instead give that role to the other playable Axe fighters, Geese or Gonzalez, they might find themselves falling short of the mark. Geese comes battle-ready with a B rank in Axes, nearly able to promote at level 9, and with stronger bases and growths in all regions besides Lot's growth in Skill and base Resistance. Gonzalez has the benefits of hard mode bonuses, a markedly stronger Strength and Speed stat, and much higher Constitution to wield the heaviest Axes with no penalty. Both Geese and Gonzalez also promote into Berserker instead of Warrior, granting a critical bonus to their weapon of choice, Axes, but do not gain Bows as Warriors do.
Lot's promotion into a Warrior is one of a hard difficulty to recommend simply due to the number of early game units vesting for the coveted Hero's Crest. Dieck gains the ability to wield Axes, which is partially what makes Lot so useful; Rutger and Fir both gain access to the incredible Swordmaster class and an increased crit rate; and Gonzalez and Geese both get access to Berserker. Warrior's promotion gains are incredible, particularly the 8 HP that the promotion gives, although with Lot's growth it's likely that he will cap his HP with this bonus. It also assists with his middling Speed growth and grants a sizable +3 Defense, improving his role as an axe tank. Bows also are a rather odd choice, as he already has no problem dealing with Pegasi and Wyverns with his triangle advantage, but the relatively high accuracy Bows have in comparison to most Axes in the Binding Blade makes him a prime user of them against higher evasion enemies or attacking enemies in forests.
If a player is seeking to try something new, or simply appreciates Lot for being a somewhat oddball Fighter in Game Boy Advance Fire Emblem, then they will find themselves enjoying him to his fullest.
Personality and character
Between him and his best friend, Lot seems himself as the calm, grounded one. He tends to act as an older brother to both Wade and Shanna, since he considers both[2] of them[3] to be too excitable and even childish. In fact, several characters comment that Lot worries too much for a man of his age.[4] He likes to think he is being realistic; however, that is not completely true. When his mother died, he told nobody, so they could not tell him to go back to his sister.[5] Besides, due to his lack of experience as a mercenary, Lot tends to trust too easily in employers according to Dieck.[6]
Lot also shows a quite impressive knowledge for someone of his social status; he is able to understand the logic behind the weapon triangle and can play the Fire Emblem equivalent of chess.[7]
