Role

Syrene appears in Chapter 17 of both routes, along with several other Frelian troops. The troops try to fight against several remnants of the Grado army and lose. Syrene stays with several civilians, promising to save them from the enemies.

Afterwards, Innes spots Syrene as the army arrives. Vanessa, Innes, or Tana can recruit Syrene into the army. She then joins Eirika and Ephraim's army and helps them for the last few chapters.

Personality and character

Syrene is a caring, polite woman, friendly to all she interacts with. She always tries to care for others, but she likes to think of herself as a mother more than as a sister.[1] Still, she often tries to be a "hero"; Gilliam reminds her not to be so.[2] In her conversations, she is always friendly and polite, and prefers that Vanessa and Tana see her more as a sister than a superior. She seems to be a good cook, able to prepare traditional Frelian dishes.[3] Many look up to her, as a sort of older sister figure.

Syrene is the commander of the third battalion of Frelia's pegasus knights. She is a dedicated soldier, along with her younger sister Vanessa. Additionally, she acts as a supportive older figure for Tana, having been assigned to watch over her as her first mission.[4]
