The Ladyblade (Japanese: レディソード Lady Sword) is a sword which was introduced in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem. It is designed specifically for use by female units. It is usable only by women in Mystery and its remake, New Mystery of the Emblem, and while any sword-wielding unit is able to use it in Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, it has only half of its potential might if a man uses it.
For women, the Ladyblade is a consistently good option at any point in the games, having great power, accuracy, and weight, and only requiring the minimum proficiency in swords to wield. Certain games give it additional useful effects, such as its effectiveness against Thieves, Brigands, Pirates, and Barbarians in Mystery of the Emblem, and its combat arts in Shadows of Valentia that allow its user to launch attacks with magic and brave effects.
