Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War

The Wing Clipper (Japanese: 燕返し Swallow Reversal) is a sword first appearing in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. It is a weapon designed to fight soldiers on flying mounts, such as Pegasus Knights and Wyvern Riders, and is very effective against units of this type.

Japanese 燕返し Swallow Reversal. Refers to the Japanese swordsman Sasaki Kojirō's signature technique, the Turning Swallow Cut. This technique was apparently so quick and precise that it could strike down birds mid-flight. Rendered in hiragana as つばめがえし in Genealogy of the Holy War.
