Downloadable Trial Maps

The first three downloadable maps are all associated with V-Jump Magazine contests run after The Binding Blade's release. All four maps have to be externally loaded manually into the save file of the game, and do not actually exist in the game by default; this method of loading external data to the game is known as the XMAP system.[1] Upon being loaded into the game, players must quickly tap Left, Left, Right, Right, L, L, and Start on the Link Arena menu to open the Map Transfer menu, and then have the maps installed.[2]

These maps are currently lost, as no surviving cartridges with the maps installed are known to exist. As a result, combined with the very limited scope of the contest giveaways, little is known about them.

Exclusive characters

With the exceptions of Hector, Eliwood and Guinivere, they come with the same items they used in their main story role, which can be traded to any other unit in the army.
