Sol (Japanese: 太陽 Sun) is an offensive skill which debuted in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. When activated it has a HP drain effect, allowing its user to recover their own hit points from the damage their Sol attack deals to the target. The amount of HP recovered and other effects depend on the individual game.
Sol originated as an uncommon personal skill in Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia 776, and became a mastery skill associated with advanced mounted classes in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. In Awakening and Fates, Sol is associated with the Hero class, learned by units of that class and accessible to other units through reclassing to Hero.

Fire Emblem Cipher
The Sol skill is present on two cards in Fire Emblem Cipher, both of which feature members of the Hero class: B01-097R Man of Flower's Fragrance, Inigo, and B02-095R Swordswoman Standing in Sunlight, Soleil. It is a trigger skill which activates automatically when its user defeats an opponent's unit. It rewards its user with a +20 boost to attack power until the end of the opponent's next turn.
Trivia
- Unused text strings exist in Path of Radiance that refer to Sol's name from the Jugdral games. It was translated as Sundblade[sic] in the English version.
