The Dracoshield (Japanese: 竜の盾 Dragon Shield), known as the Dragonshield in earlier English-language games, is a stat-boosting item which was introduced in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light. It permanently increases its user's defense stat when used. It is available in every game of the series other than the Jugdral duology, where the Shield Ring performs a similar function instead.
In Gaiden and its remake, Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, the Dracoshield is not a stat-booster but an equipment item in the shield category. It is the strongest shield in both games, giving high boosts to both the defense and resistance of units who equip it. It also restores small amounts of HP to its user every turn.

Trivia
- Although it is not present as an item in Genealogy of the Holy War, the Dracoshield is referenced in Chapter 9 when Janne or Femina meets the Shanan imposter. The imposter attempts to pass off a shield with a dragon pattern as Balmung, and when Janne/Femina keeps it at the end of the conversation, she receives a three-point defense increase, the same amount of defense given by the Dracoshield in Shadow Dragon NES.
