Item

From Fire Emblem Wiki, your source on Fire Emblem information. By fans, for fans.

Items (Japanese: アイテム Item) are tools that can be bought, sold, found in chests, or taken from fallen enemy troops. These items can be used, or can be traded between characters. Items are carried within a character's inventory or within a supply convoy.

There are multiple ways to classify what an item actually is. Any weapon or staff is considered an item for purposes of inventory in most games; Mystery of the Emblem and Path of Radiance distinguishes weapons from items as far as personal inventory is concerned, with both allowing four weapons and four items (counting staves in the latter category). In some contexts, items are referred to separately from weapons and staves and typically refer to items that don't make use of a weapon type or level.

Some weapon types that appear in earlier games of the series but are not defined as such until later have typically been considered items when in inventory; this is notably how the stone weapon type got its start, as did ancestors to the strike.

Lists of weapons and staves can be found on pages for their weapon types: swords, lances, axes, bows, ballistae, tomes, anima magic, fire magic, thunder magic, wind magic, light magic, dark magic, black magic, white magic, staves, knives/daggers, gauntlets, strikes/monster weapons, Crest Stones, stones, and breath. The below lists deal with items that are solely considered items.

Healing items

These items allow their holder to heal themselves. Most of these are HP restorers, although some also restore status effects as well. For Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, see Provision.

Equipment

Equipment is a category of item in Gaiden, Path of Radiance, Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, and Three Houses. Equipment is very similar to accessory items; equipment, however, must be equipped, and so only one can be used at a time. Equipment can have weight in Shadows of Valentia and Three Houses. All items in Gaiden are equipment.

Officially, there is no difference between equipment and accessory items, with equipment being called accessories in some menus of Three Houses, but they are distinguished on this website due to both types appearing in Three Houses.

Equipment consists of shields, rings, staves, gems, and miscellaneous equipment.
