Fire Emblem Cipher/The Heroes' Blade of War

The Heroes' Blade of War (Japanese: 英雄たちの戦刃 The Heroes' Blade of War) is the first booster series released for Fire Emblem Cipher. It primarily features characters from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light, its remake, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, and Fire Emblem Awakening. This series was released aside two assocated starter decks, War of Shadows Chapter and Awakening Chapter, on June 25th, 2015 in Japan. The retail price for individual booster packs is ¥350 plus tax.

This booster series is part of season 1, and will no longer be legal in competitive play sometime in May 2019.

As with all of Cipher, the cards featured here has been printed only in Japanese and have only been released in Japan.

Overview

This booster series can be divided into two halves. The first half, consisting of cards 1-50 and denoted with  , focus primarily on characters from Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light and its second remake, Shadow Dragon; the second half, consisting of cards 51-100 and denoted with  , focus primarily on characters from Awakening.

Boxes of 16 booster packs of this series include a download code for a bonus character, Minerva, using her Cipher artwork, in Fire Emblem Fates. This download code is region-locked, and only unlocks the character for the Japanese version of Fates, this bonus character has not been made available in international releases through any methods. Card list

The series features a total of 100 normal cards as well as 14 alternate foil prints. Card 43 exists in both an error print and a corrected print that causes the varieties to have slightly-different card numbers.

Trivia

  • Primarily due to Cipher's original two mascots not debuting until the second booster series, this booster series was for a long time the only one where card 49 depicted someone other than one of the Cipher mascots; it wouldn't be until fifteen booster series and nearly four years later for another booster series to have a card 49 depict someone other than a Cipher mascot.
