Flickering Flower (Japanese: 閃花 Flash flower) is a combat art which debuted in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It is learned by achieving class mastery of the Emperor; as that class is exclusive to Edelgard, this combat art by extension is as well. It grants increased might, hit rate, and avoidance, while also inflicting frozen status on its target, halting its movement for a single turn after combat.
In Fire Emblem Engage, Flickering Flower appears as a skill, and is acquired by equipping Edelgard's S-rank Bond Ring. It still inflicts the frozen status, but unlike its combat art incarnation, it does not boost any of the user's stats and is not activated on command. Instead, it is now a triggered skill that can activate any time the user initiates combat, with the chance being based on how much damage the user deals.
