The Nine-Tails (Japanese: 九尾の狐 Kyuubi no Kitune) is an advanced, Hoshido-aligned class which was introduced in Fire Emblem Fates. It is the promoted form of the Kitsune, and is a non-human shapeshifting class which uses beaststones to take the form of a powerful nine-tailed fox in battle.

The Nohrian counterpart of the Nine-Tails class is the Wolfssegner. Enemy Nine-Tails, along with their basic form and their Nohrian counterparts, are among the few playable classes whose generic enemy members are not capturable.

Nine-Tails

According to Japanese folklore, where foxes (kitsune) are treated as wise and mystical creatures, foxes grow more tails as they grow older, wiser, and more powerful. This tradition says that foxes can have no more than nine tails, and that nine-tailed foxes possess peerless wisdom and the ability to see and hear anything around the world.
