Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Memorial Book Tellius Recollection: The First Volume (Japanese: ファイアーエムブレム 蒼炎の軌跡 設定資料集 テリウス・リコレクション [上] Fire Emblem: Path of the Blue Flame Memorial Book Tellius Recollection: The First Volume) is an art and design book focusing on the subject of Tellius and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. The book is written entirely in Japanese.

It is the first of two volumes, the second volume, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn Memorial Book Tellius Recollection: The Second Volume, focuses on development and other materials for Path of Radiance's sequel, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

Elincia's new artwork.

The book features contents from Path of Radiance's development notes. The book itself mentions that there may be some inconsistencies in the character profiles and country history in the development notes versus the final release.

The book's front cover and back cover features two new art pieces, one of Ike and one of Elincia, drawn specifically for the occasion. These pieces were drawn by the original character artist for Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Senri Kita.

Chapter I: World & Story

The chapter begins with a provided timeline, which does not seem to differentiate from the timeline provided in the Japanese Fire Emblem World website. Said timeline is also documented on-wiki here. After the timeline there are pages dedicated to beorc and laguz history.

The history section also provides an interesting table of average beorc, laguz, and branded life expectancy. The table is, however, not comprehensive, it only features laguz and branded that appear in Path of Radiance.

Life expectancy table
Race Outward Appearance
(years of age)
Average Life Expectancy
(years of age)
Beorc 1 60
Lion 3 180
Tiger 3.2 192
Cat 3.4 204
Hawk 3.45 207
Raven 3.5 210
Heron 5 300
Red Dragon 16.7 1002
Black Dragon 17 1020
White Dragon 17.5 1050
Half-Black Dragon 3.33 185
Half-Lion 1.2 94
Half-Tiger 1.02 65

The next part of this chapter is simply a recap of the events of Path of Radiance for the reader, it recounts from the prologue to the endgame.

Chapter II: Characters

This chapter contains a character relation chart, profiles for the playable cast and significant antagonists, and a character list.

The character profiles feature artwork of each character. Little new info is provided in the profiles, with the only major revelations being a confirmation of Stefan's Soan ancestry, and clarification that Petrine is a Branded of tiger heritage. It provides very few concrete ages, though it does give "apparent" ages; ages the characters were designed with in mind. It also provides short lists of things like things the characters do and don't like, and their small hobbies.

Chapter III: Concept Art

Concept artwork of an adult Sanaki.

Contains concept art for a wide variety of topics.

It begins with character model sheets for the playable characters and major antagonists; for the most part these are what were realized for the final release, though some characters have some design differences. A few examples are: Stefan was originally designed with blue hair, an adult Sanaki design was drafted, Ashnard looked older and originally wore darker clothing, and Elincia originally had a blue-green dress.

There is also a large amount of concept art provided for generic classes, including female variations of some generic classes, including, in particular, a design for a generic female assassin. A few notable tidbits are: white dragons were originally designed with feathered wings, the classes have several designs, increasing in 'rank', the highest ranked general design ended up being used for the Black Knight.[1]

Full character portraits are also provided, these portraits are not cut off by the ingame text-box, and have the characters drawn from head to knee, instead of head to waist, meaning all of these portraits have previously unseen art. There are also three unused portraits, one for Soren, one for Zihark, and one for Marcia. Zihark's portrait is in a different, more aggressive pose, and Marcia's portrait has slightly different clothing and facial structure.

Chapter IV: Relationships

This chapter simply compiles scripts from all of the support conversations in Path of Radiance.

Chapter V: Extras

This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.

Contains miscellaneous artwork and data, including but not limited to: early revisions of Path of Radiance's boxart, and lyrics to Life Returns, the song sung by Reyson and Leanne to restore Serenes Forest.

  • Rajaion's character profile is very unpolished, featuring a line being repeated twice, and another line cutting off in the middle of a sentence and finishing the sentence later in the paragraph.[3]
