Nomads (Japanese: 遊牧民 , Nomad ) are members of a bow-wielding class present in Fire Emblem . This class is exclusive to Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade and Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade as all nomads hail from the tribes of Sacae in Elibe . Arch knights in Jugdral and bow knights in Tellius are similar classes.

Nomads are basically mounted archers , and as such, they can only attack from a distance and cannot engage units adjacent to them. Being on horseback gives them great mobility, but curiously in The Binding Blade , they are not vulnerable to anticavalry weapons, such as longswords , horseslayers , and rapiers , though the effect applies in The Blazing Blade . Besides, nomads have very well-trained horses and are hindered less by rough terrain or weather conditions than other cavalry units.
All characters of this basic class can be promoted to Nomadic Troopers .
