It is the fourteenth instalment in the Fire Emblem series. It was officially revealed in a Nintendo Direct broadcast on 14 January, 2015.[2] It has been stated that the game will not be connected to any previous entries in the series in terms of plot or characters.[3] Character designs and artwork will be handled by Yūsuke Kozaki, who was also responsible for the character designs of Awakening, while the story will be written by the manga storywriter and novelist Shin Kibayashi.[3]
