Good morning!

Just wanted to say hello. I'm unable to use Skype at the moment but I'm quite glad to be seeing you around as an active user. Hopefully I can be more active sometime soon?? Seritinajii (talk) 15:23, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Alright, happy to help out. Hope to see you back soon. --Moydow (Support) 15:30, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

batch text replace request

as per the discussion here, quickly requesting another text replace run: "Seisen no Keifu" -> "Genealogy of the Holy War". i'll be moving the Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War page shortly so this seems in order. thanks! --some idiot (talk) 03:50, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Alright, I'll get that done straight away. --Moydow (Support) 08:18, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Sorry to pester you like this...

But a blacklist issue has crept up that's keeping Robin's Manuscript currently red. I've gone ahead and created the article at an alternate location (User:Shiningpikablu252/Robin's tome), meaning there's content at the ready when the correct name is ready to become blue... --Shiningpikablu252

CAPTCHA's busted...

Not sure if it's limited to Chromebooks (I've been reduced to having to use one since losing my workhorse tower), but the CAPTCHA is somehow not working. I intended to include a reference to the Serenes news story on the Heimler errata at the end of the trivia piece from the outset of article creation, but errors relating to the CAPTCHA prevented me from doing so (nothing came up in the area where the CAPTCHA should have been). Is there somehow a way this can be fixed? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 03:02, 9 September 2015 (UTC) EDIT: Nevermind, after applying the Chromebook update, the CAPTCHA worked...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 03:04, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Shura (birthright)

Just thought i'd help the page by letting you know that as well as Yukimura, Shura joins up with your group after beating chapter 22 in birthright path (though with Yukimura you also have to come back to your castle after finishing a battle (can usescout and battle whatever appears), and they both only have support with main character.). Corinna (talk) 17:47, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

We've already got the info on the page, but thanks anyway! If you notice anything else you want to add, you're welcome to go ahead and add the info yourself. --Moydow (Support) 10:49, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

Probably need a stronger CAPCHA

The CAPCHA is very weak on this Wiki, most people could figure it out, including unwanted people, so can you make a stronger CAPCHA? TabuuandRobin (talk) 21:31, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

Captchas don't have anything to do with blocking out actual people. The entire point of a captcha is validating that the editor is a human and not a bot. There's no such thing as a captcha that a human can't figure out. --PA (talk) 23:01, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

Nintendo UK press site

Out of curiosity, I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of the press kit that this latest batch of FE14 images is coming from. I tried to locate it but have had no luck. --PA (talk) 08:22, 3 May 2016 (UTC)

You need to apply for an account, and have it verified, before you can access it. It's pretty hit-or-miss as to whether you'll get in - my first two applications were refused, but the third one (despite using the same details) was given access. --Moydow (Support) 08:35, 3 May 2016 (UTC)

I used to go by TabuuandRobin, but I forgot the password, without an email, so I created this one, so can you block my old one? RoyFan101 (talk) 08:13, 22 May 2016 (UTC)

No mail was sended

Hello there. I am new here. I want to confirm my email adress (and my account) but I received no emails within a hour. Keep pressing the "send mail again" doesn't help me either. Is something wrong? Seliph (talk) 02:27, 31 May 2016 (UTC)

No need to answer. The mail was treaded like spam and I found it. Thats strange... Seliph (talk) 09:40, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
Why am I not allowed to create page? Every time I want to creat a page I get "Permission error". Seliph (talk) 09:43, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
You need autoconfirmed status in order to create articles (this is a measure to guard against automated spam). There's some editing quotas that have to be met before one can gain autoconfirmed status--last I checked, 10 edits and 4 days wait...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 12:24, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- Fire Emblem Wiki:Users. Well, four days are over and still, I can't creat pages. This page states that the user need 50 edits and must been active for at least 30 days. I'm a little confused. Why 30 days? Until then I'm editing at all and lost my patience. ): Sorry ~ Seliph (talk) 23:35, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

Text replace request

May you change the FE13 categories to not have a colon (to match the page title)? I started doing it myself, but FE13 has way too much stuff in it. PikaSamus (talk) 01:51, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

618 pages... that'll take a while to process, even via text replace. Some of the category pages might need to be changed manually, since normally category pages can't actually be moved. Will just have to check what's left over after the text replace finishes up. --Moydow (Support) 18:28, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

MediaWiki:Uploadtext

On MediaWiki:Uploadtext, there is a line about MultipleUpload, but FEWiki does not have that extension. That line should be removed. PikɑSɑmus (talk) 18:24, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

Done. We used to have it years ago, but it hasn't been updated in a long time and is marked as "unmaintained", so we had to remove it. --Moydow (Support) 19:04, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

Tabs are a bit buggy...

I've noticed something up with the tabs since the software upgrade, and I don't think it's browser-specific. I can't seem to switch tabs away from the default (usually the first, although clusters can be rigged to have different defaults) no matter the page's load-percent state. Got any fine-toothed combs to see what can be done? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 18:46, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

They should be working as normal now. --Moydow (Support) 19:03, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Something tells me we might need to...

...clean the rubbish bin. Given the rash of names shown on the Fire Emblem Heroes polls, and the fact that quite a few of them may need to have their related images moved to filename positions currently in the rubbish bin (especially if they get used in Heroes itself), I'd wager it's better to clean the rubbish bin now so we're ready to make the necessary updates...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 02:16, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

Special maps in Heroes

Should we have pages for special maps as well, or are they not neccessary? Thing is, they're only available for a limited amount of time like Narcian is... and the Hero Battles for each day. --Breakin' Benny (talk) 15:24, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

I think we can cover the major ones like Narcian's, but I don't think it's as important to do the minor ones for characters that can be summoned normally. I think it might be better to group them all into one page, rather than individual pages (a bit like how we put all the trial maps of FE6/9 into one page: List of Trial Maps in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance), since there's no story or anything else to them. --Moydow (Support) 20:49, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

Existing classes in Fire Emblem Heroes redirection

I have noticed that many of the classes in Heroes have simple names owing to their weaponry, like the Sword Fighter or Lance/Sword/Axe Flier. What do you say about redirecting Sword Fighter and Lance Flier? I know the former is strange because it's for both Myrmidons and Mercenaries, but it's closest to the Japanese name for Myrmidon (Swordfighter), while internally, the Fliers are considered Pegasus Knights. Breakin' Benny (talk) 12:06, 1 March 2017 (UTC)

At the moment, I'm not entirely certain they can be counted as classes... there are no references to them being classes anywhere in the files (if they were intended programmatically as classes, one might expect to find a "class" file in the SRPG folder, where all the other stats are defined), and from a design standpoint, units are far too distinct from each other, too individual, in terms of skill sets and the purpose they serve, even if they are both, for example, mounted on pegasi and wielding swords. All there is for the generic enemies is just the art and help text. What would we put on these pages pertaining to Heroes data, in the absence of any sort of stats? I'm not even sure we have enough to create any sort of article on them. So for now, I think we should hold off on anything like that. --Moydow (Support) 17:03, 1 March 2017 (UTC)

Echoes portraits

Do you plan to upload all boss portraits and add them to the character pages? Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:16, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

They're all uploaded, except for a small handful of generic portraits I missed; I'll get to those tomorrow. I'll add them to the characters' pages whenever I get around to them, I guess. There are other things to do as well, like character stats and such, so I think it would be more efficient to add the portraits and stats in the same edit, rather than running around each page and adding portraits, only to go back later for the stats. --Moydow (Support) 02:42, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Discussing it on Serenes forums, we're missing the Shizas portrait, not the similarly named Dread Fighter, Saizo/Scizor, Shizas is the the Gold Knight. Emperor Hardin (talk) 02:52, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

I haven't been following what's going on on the Serenes Forest forums much at all, really. I've been mostly working on ripping the files from the game myself, since a lot of the portrait downloads I found scattered around the internet proved incomplete. Anyway, I just checked again myself, and it doesn't seem like Shizas is anywhere to be found. I don't want to say for certain until somebody reaches that point in the game, but it seems like he might have been cut. --Moydow (Support) 04:45, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

That'd be very surprising if he was cut as every other minor boss is present, including the characters without portraits. Wanna add that to his page, then? Emperor Hardin (talk) 05:03, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

I guess, since it doesn't appear as if he has any data in the game, or at least nothing I can find. --Moydow (Support) 05:13, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Poor Shizas, they need a DLC chapter, Shizas strikes back, the revenge of the forgotten boss!" Emperor Hardin (talk) 05:24, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Lapis Spring blacklist issue

While uploading the bottom-screen My Castle icons for the My Castle/Objects page, I had to upload the following three images at slightly-alternate filenames due to a blacklist issue concerning the string "Lapis Spring", the object in question: Mi fe14 my castle lapis spring lv1.png Mi fe14 my castle lapis spring lv2.png Mi fe14 my castle lapis spring lv3.png The redlink Lapis Spring has also not yet been redirected to My Castle/Objects#Ore Spots like the rest of the ore spots do due to the same issue. Think this can somehow be taken care of? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 05:50, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

All done. --Moydow (Support) 14:10, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

Yet another blacklist bogey, I'm afraid...

The intended target this time is Trapping Arrows, an Echoes skill. Due to the issue with the dreaded blacklist, the content intended for that position had to be created at an alternate location, in this case in my userspace at User:Shiningpikablu252/Trap Arrow. Can we get the content where it belongs? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 03:45, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

...News from Izumo: Blacklist issue detected on Revelation chapter name...

The name in question is Voice of a God, chapter 10 of Revelation. The term in question is three letters, spread out over three words. The content in question has been given a temporary position until it can be moved into the correct one. We hope to learn more about the progress of this by the regular 5:00 news bulletin. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 05:09, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

This just in, the page has been moved. --Moydow (Support) 14:32, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

Urgent move requests

As per Echoes English names:

Official and fan-translated names

I don't know how to say this in an organized way, but the Choose Your Legends website from Heroes revealed the official names of many characters whose names were fan-translated in different ways (example: The cleric from Genealogy of Holy War: her name was translated as Adean and Aideen, but the website shows her name as Edain). Shouldn't we change them to the official names?

Here's the link: https://events.fire-emblem-heroes.com/vote/series/104/heroes#first_letter_A --Unnamedgoon (talk) 21:48, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

We're aware of the Choose Your Legends names, but we've chosen to instead wait for those characters to appear in an actual game under those names before we move any articles. I think our stance is justified because of the handful of names that have been changed on the poll site since it was first posted (e.g. Iuchar/Iucharba), and the names which were used on the poll site, but ended up being changed once they were mentioned or appeared in Heroes itself (e.g. Thite appearing on the poll website, but being changed to Thea when she was mentioned by Shanna in Heroes itself). I think issues like this are reason enough to doubt the accuracy of the Choose Your Legends site, so for now, we're sticking with what we currently have. --Moydow (Support) 22:00, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

Okay then --Unnamedgoon (talk) 22:32, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

How do I cite sources?

I`ve been adding trivia to some of the characters form Sacred Stones but most of the trivia I added are actually from fireemblem.wikia so I wanted to cite their website as source but I don`t know how to cite sources on this website. Can you please help me? Mr. Kite (talk) 04:10, 3 July 2017 (UTC)

A wiki is not considered an acceptable source to cite as a reference, due to their nature as being editable by the public; unless they themselves have citations for their info, you can't verify the information's authenticity, so it shouldn't be used. You also cannot simply copy and paste information from other sites; you should instead write it in your own words, and provide that site as a reference (or if it's a wiki, use their references instead, assuming they have them - the FE Wikia seems especially bad at this; something like Gheb's portrait "exceeding the size limit" is something I wouldn't let pass without a reference).
For future reference, for adding citations from other websites, you use the cite web template:

Make sure to enclose it in <ref> tags, otherwise it won't work properly. --Moydow (Support) 14:20, 3 July 2017 (UTC)

Ok. Thank you. Mr. Kite (talk) 00:11, 4 July 2017 (UTC)

Defective template detected

While taking a look at a few articles on a wanted pages sweep and looked at a Heroes chapter page, I noticed that a template used within them, Template:Toclimit, appears to have gone defective. You can use any existing image on the wiki for your user page, but you cannot upload images specifically for use on your user page, unless the image happens to have a use on an actual article (e.g. certain screenshots). --Moydow (Support) 01:04, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

Blacklist Emblem Villains

...OK, that cheesy section title was lame, I admit it. Anyway, a blacklist issue is preventing me from creating Napping Dragon as a redirect to Back to Awakening#Part 2: Napping Dragon. Yes, the potential for someone to use the search bar to look for a specific Heroes chapter part does exist, hence why redirects of this type already exist. Think we can break the ice and get this redirect going? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 05:01, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

Module trouble on Template:CharStats FEH

The module that powers the template in question is returning an error on the invocation on Arden in the HP field. I have reason to believe that the module as programmed isn't expecting a value of 12 for a growth point in HP, which Arden has; based on his base HP of 25, and the fact that his stats are fixed, the field should return a value of 60...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 06:46, 16 October 2017 (UTC)

...All lame attempts at failed lame jokes aside*, I've got a request that I would like the help of the bot for. The request involves nixing what has snowballed into a menace plaguing many a Template:Names invocation: "eng=mean=". What may have once been a harmless error has spread like wildfire onto a large number of pages thanks to copy-pasting, and complicated a number of attempts to display meanings for official English terminology simply because of the misplaced equals sign. These rouge strings should read "eng-mean=". Think we can get the bot to end this menace? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 03:57, 7 January 2018 (UTC)

Another year, another blacklist problem...

Any way we can step around this problem and get it redirected where it should? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 04:39, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

Anyway to get direct access to the FE Heroes game files?

I wanna help out with the missing banners without going to a different Fire Emblem Wiki and downloading images from there. Is this possible? --Master Snake (talk) 04:08, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

If you own a rooted Android device, you can extract the game files from it and use those (they come in webp format, so you'll need to use something like libwebp to convert them to PNG before uploading). If that's not possible for you, you can probably find some on places like the Spriters Resource or Gamepress' datamines.
If you are referring to summoning focus banners, however, in the game files they are encrypted in such a way that it is basically impossible to convert them into a usable form without significant manual effort. The only way to get these is to source them elsewhere on the internet. --Moydow (Support) 13:10, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

Paging Dr. Moydow...

Another defective template has been detected. This time, the patient is Template:Pagelist. I think something with the upgrade caused it to turn defective, thus not properly rendering links in Template:Merge (inclusion example) and Template:Split (inclusion example. Wonder if the surgeons can get to the bottom of this and get the issue fixed? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 04:15, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

It should work now; I converted it into a Lua module instead. --Moydow (Support) 22:29, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
Sorry, but single-target invocations are actually now worse than before, as there's an error in the module throwing them into the script errors category; only multi-target invocations are working as intended. It doesn't matter if the "reason" parameter in the template is invoked or not. Looks like the medical team isn't finished yet...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 01:33, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

Think Moybot could be up to some tap dancing?

...All lame attempts at lame jokes aside, think Moybot could go about replacing instances of [ ] with CipherTap? The template itself wouldn't be a potential hit since, even if the "nowiki"s in the template weren't there, there's some hovertext invoked that prevents the invocation of the image in the template from being an exact match. Troublemaker alert

User:Wc12271991 has been going about removing the separator pipes in invocations of Template:Hover used for raw Japanese for no valid reason. By removing the separator pipes, it makes what's supposed to be the hovertext visible at base and having the {} appear as the hovertext, defeating the purpose of even using the hover template; in one instance, he reverted my repair claiming that "we need to be able to see the romaji"--and he's not leaving the Black Knight class's article alone, as he followed up my re-repair by doing damage to the "Etymology and other languages" section again involving the hover template. He's been doing pretty much the same over at our primary rivals as well, and getting reverted over there as well. Are we going to be able to convince this troublemaker to stop, or are we going to have to stop him by force? --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 07:01, 23 December 2018 (UTC)

FireEmblem skin bug

The "results to show/time period to search" function does not function right on the FireEmblem skin (which I've chosen to set). Not only does it appear behind the list of abbreviations, but even if said list of abbreviations is collapsed it appears darkened and clicking anywhere in it merely closes the list and doesn't apply whatever change was clicked on. I've checked all of the other skins on offer, and the feature works correctly on them; what's causing this to go wrong on this particular skin?

P.S. The editing toolbar with the quick way to insert a signature doesn't appear to be working on any of the skins...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 02:30, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Both issues should be fixed now. On the matter of the editing toolbar, MediaWiki no longer uses the old toolbar, so instead WikiEditor is offered; there's no way to go back to the old one. --Moydow (Support) 15:45, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Tiki's Page Title

For whatever reason, the page title for Tiki is being displayed along the side of the Site News banner. To my recollection, this wasn't happening before the update. The problem persists while my browser window is about half the size of my screen. I don't know how I'd go about fixing it, so it seems like something I ought to bring up. Thecornerman (talk) 20:56, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Fixed. Looks like some Chrome-specific weirdness was at fault, which was why I didn't notice anything like that myself. --Moydow (Support) 22:57, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

I'm having trouble with the max file size upload

I'm trying to upload the rest of the new "Special Heroes" artwork and I'm met with this: "This file is bigger than the server is configured to allow." (2 mb). It wasn't like that when I uploaded this one last month prior to the wiki update. --Master Snake (talk) 04:54, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

It should be fixed now. --Moydow (Support) 14:36, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

New upload failure

Attempting to upload a new version of the enemy dismounted paladin, including the 1px margin other battle sprites have, has resulted in the older version stretching to fit in the new resolution. I don't know if this is a fault on my end or an error in the upload or something similar, nor do I know how to fix it, but I know it's wrong. Thecornerman (talk) 19:50, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

It's probably just the cache being slow to update. Give it a few hours or so and it should fix itself. --Moydow (Support) 20:12, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, it's fixed itself. False alarm. Thecornerman (talk) 20:30, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

How do you move a page without leaving a redirect?

Title says it all, really. I wanted to move Ss fe16 caspar dining hall.png to Ss fe16 ashe dining hall.png without leaving a redirect, but accidentally did so anyway. Same thing when I misspelled Weissmann as Weissman (one n). Now I'd like to know for future reference. Thanks. It's a permission (suppressredirect) that only some user groups have. You can see which ones here. Luke (talk) 16:20, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

Dimitri's picture weirdness

For some reason, Dimitri's picture on his infobox is erroneously displaying his cover art when it should be displaying his official website art while the picture that should link to his cover art in the gallery is instead displaying his website art, and purging the cache doesn't do bollocks to fix it. Someone should probably fix that. Sorry to bug you. Ma 3ds02 sniper takumi vallite enemy.gif Infernape612 (talk) Ma 3ds03 gold knight berkut act v enemy.gif 19:40, 12 June 2019 (UTC)

The problem seems to have been resolved, so thanks. (Wonder why that happens?) Ma 3ds02 sniper takumi vallite enemy.gif Infernape612 (talk) Ma 3ds03 gold knight berkut act v enemy.gif 18:47, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

Technical problem...

Did something go on in the depths of the technical side of things in the past roughly 17 hours from when I'm typing this? Some underlying change in the technical side of things has resulted in tabs no longer working for me on any skin (using an Acer Chromebook 15, model 3-532); I noticed this while trying to read through the recently-created Fall of the Palace article just a short bit ago, and the tabs weren't functioning for me, and the same went in the Summer Refreshes article I had created last night when tabs were still functioning...--Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 02:04, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

Got a blacklist hit on a new project...

While building up a battery of categories of Fire Emblem Cipher cards by illustrator, beginning with those from the newest era (and I do plan on going back and cataloging the whole thing after updating character articles' Cipher boxes with data from said newest era of cards), I of course ran into a hit of the blacklist. I'd set up my sandbox to easily construct the categories, so it's advised to make use of it when trying to get past the blacklist. The target category is Category:Fire Emblem Cipher cards illustrated by Kotetsu Kinoshita; it should be created using . Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 09:58, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

Another one in the same project. This time, the creation target is Category:Fire Emblem Cipher cards without credited illustrators. The text I was looking to create it with was:
TCGCipher cards that do not list any illustrator credit anywhere on its card.

Unless you somehow think that the above is some type of credit scam, is there a way we can forge the above text into the target category? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 04:06, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

Blacklist tripped my hopping!

Hopping to It is the target title; it should be crafted with #REDIRECTFamilial Festivities#Part 2: , but the blacklist is tripping the title of that chapter part. Is it possible to crack that egg and get that redirect hopping? ...And can you forgive my lame attempt at hopping puns, given the overall theme of the Heroes chapter in question? --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 09:09, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

Got another one for the pile, I'm afraid. For the second Heroes paralogue in a row, a chapter part title's tripping the blacklist preventing me from crafting the necessary redirect. This time, the target title is An Altean Youth, its target redirect text is it #REDIRECTThe Start of It All#Part 1: , but the blacklist tripped the title of that chapter part. Hard to believe the previous memo got missed for so long, but is it possible to get these redirects created? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 (talk) 06:15, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
