This game is the first of the series that takes place in a different universe than the pervious games, on the continent of Jugdral. This game is split up into two halves, separated by the timespan of a generation. In the first generation, Lord Siglud fights off an invasion of the Kingdom of Verdane. In the second generation, Siglud's son Celice leads a liberation army against the Grandbell Empire.
