Prince

|
In the Fire Emblem series, there are two somewhat different classes called "Prince" in English versions, official or otherwise, but with different Japanese names. Both are the personal classes of young, sword-wielding heirs of a kingdom.
The first version of the Prince (プリンス, Prince) is the personal class of Leif, prince of Lenster, in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War and Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. In Genealogy of the Holy War, the Prince is Leif's base class, promoting to the powerful Master Knight; however, in Thracia 776, the Prince is Leif's promoted class, promoting from the Lord. In these games, the class is a balanced class defined by its high potential; that said, oddly enough, its base and maximum stats in Seisen are somewhat higher than they are in Thracia, possibly explained by Leif's appearance in Seisen chronologically occurring after Thracia.
The second version (Japanese: ベルン王国王子 Prince of the Kingdom of Bern) is the personal class of Zephiel of Bern in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. It appears only in Chapter 26E/28H, where the goal is to defend Zephiel. In this game, the Prince class is quite weak, on par with the average unpromoted class, contrasting somewhat with the game's constant claims that Zephiel is a gifted warrior even in his youth; this is somewhat compensated by Zephiel's possession of a Silver Sword and the ability to use it automatically. This version of the Prince also appears, unused and devoid of an actual name, in the data of The Sacred Stones.
