First game

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776

The Poleax (known as Halberd in Blazing Sword and The Sacred Stones) is a uncommon axe-type weapon in the Fire Emblem series. Its main characteristic is its effectiveness against mounted units, such as paladins and cavaliers. In most of the games where it is available, this weapon is fairly cheap and has a low weapon rank, so it can be used by most axe-wielding units.

The poleax made its debut in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, and since then it has been present in all games but Radiant Dawn and Awakening. In the former game there are three different versions of the weapon, but lacking the anti-cavalry bonus.
