Pegasus Knight

|
Pegasus Knights (ペガサスナイト, Pegasasu Naito) are a class that ride on pegasi and use lances as weapons. They have appeared in every Fire Emblem game to date, starting with Caeda in Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi. Their main characteristics are high movement capabilities because of their ability to fly, the use of lances, and unusually high resistance for non-magic users. In most games they are a basic class that changes to Falcoknights, but in Thracia 776 they are the promoted form of the Pegasus Rider class.
Pegasus knights are quite useful units for many purposes. Their ability to move quickly over almost any terrain can help in attacking faraway enemies or rescuing endangered units. However, pegasus knights often have low defense and are vulnerable to physical attacks, especially from arrows, which deal increased damage to them. Pegasus knights' high resistance allows them to engage mages in combat relatively safely.
In Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi and Monshou no Nazo, pegasus knights promote to Dragon Knights. In The Sacred Stones, they can promote to Falcoknights or Wyvern Knights as the player decides. In Thracia 776, they do not promote; instead they are the promoted form of pegasus riders. In all other games, they promote to Falcoknights, spelled "Falcon Knight" in Gaiden, Seisen no Keifu, and Path of Radiance or "Falconknight" in Radiant Dawn.
