(Japanese: ドラゴンライダー Dragon Rider) is a basic wyvern-mounted flying class introduced in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. Exclusive to Genealogy and Thracia 776, it is a somewhat weaker counterpart to the Wyvern Rider class which was enemy-exclusive in Genealogy before becoming playable in Thracia 776. In Thracia 776, it is playable and acts as the game's basic wyvern-mounted class, with the Wyvern Rider serving as its promoted form; after Thracia, the Dragon Rider does not appear again, with Genealogy's Wyvern Rider-Wyvern Lord class tree remaining for the rest of the series.
Like the Wyvern Rider, the Dragon Rider acts as a statistical counterpoint to the Pegasus Rider: whereas its pegasus-riding cousin is fast and frail, the Dragon Rider is oriented in a bulky, powerful manner. Their strength and defense are both high, with lesser skill and speed compared to Pegasus Riders, and they share the same high movement and access to Canto as Pegasus Rider and other mounted classes. However, their resistance is abysmal even compared to other physical classes. They also share the Pegasus Rider family's weakness to bows and wind magic.
