The Mauthe Doog class (Japanese: モーサドゥーグ, Mauthedoog) is a monster class exclusive to FE8. They take the form of monstrous canine beasts, often equipped with Fiery Fang. As with most monster classes, they are enemy-exclusivve. Mauthe doogs run somewhat parallel to the Myrmidon in terms of stat distribution, being quite easy to defeat due to their low HP, though their high skill and speed let them hit often and accurately, if doing little damage. Their plentiful movement, for a foot unit, allows them to cover large distances of the map in a shorter amount of turns.

The Mauthe Doog (Japanese: モーサドゥーグ Mauthedoog) is an enemy-exclusive monster class which is exclusive to Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. They are monstrous dog-like beasts created through the dark power of Fomortiis, which attack by biting their foes with their Fiery Fang weapon. They are classified as a base class, and while they cannot actually change class, they have a more powerful advanced counterpart in the Gwyllgi.

In terms of stat distribution, Mauthe Doogs are a monster counterpart to the human Myrmidon class. Although they have low strength and poor HP and defense, making them very frail, they have very high skill and speed which allow them to hit often and accurately, if doing little damage. Their speed is helped even further by their respectable constitution and the low weight of their Fiery Fang, which keeps their attack speed high and interferes with the ability of members of the player's army to consistently double-attack them. They also have very high movement for an infantry class, among the best of any base monster class, which allows them to cover large distances of the map and close in the player's units very quickly.

Mauthe Doog

"Mauthe Doog" is an anglicization of the Manx Gaelic Moddey Dhoo (literally, "black dog"), a mythological, monstrous black canine in the folklore of the Isle of Man. It is said that seeing a Moddey Dhoo is a bad omen, and among other things, that death will come upon the one that catches sight of the beast. Numerous other regions of the British Isles have similar myths about black dogs, such as the Church Grim of English mythology and the Gwyllgi of Welsh mythology.[1]
