Wolfskin Peak (Japanese: 人狼の峰 Werewolf Peak) is the fifteenth chapter of the Birthright campaign in Fire Emblem Fates. In this chapter, Corrin and his/her army must make their way through Mount Garou, home of the wolfskin, in an attempt to infiltrate the heart of Nohr. Corrin attempts nonintereference, but a Nohrian trap set ahead of time provokes the wolfskin leader, Keaton, into calling his tribe into battle.
Should Corrin's support with Kaze be at B-rank or lower going into this chapter, the chapter's aftermath will play differently in a fashion that results in Kaze's death. Kaze must survive this chapter in order to meet the additional requirement for unlocking his daughter's paralogue in the Birthright campaign.

Wolfskin Peak/Script
Kaze tells Corrin that he has finished scouting the area, revealing that the Nohrian army, while not aware of the location of Corrin's Hoshidan army, has moved to block all possible routes to the castle with thousands of troops, even covering back roads and trails; Corrin states that their numbers are but a handful and thanks Kaze for his scouting mission, to which Kaze asks Corrin how he/she plans on proceeding due to there appearing to be no way they can get past the Nohrians undetected. Corrin asks if there really is no route they could take, to which Ryoma states that there is one possible route--Mount Garou, also known as the Impassible Peak; Kaze rebukes Ryoma's suggestion, stating that they'd fare better against 10,000 Nohrian soldiers in the open, to which Ryoma states that the Nohrians are aware of such a downside and thus are trying to force the Hoshidans' hand in that direction. Kaze reveals that there are no Nohrian soldiers blocking the path to the peak of Mount Garou, after which Ryoma asks Corrin for his/her idea on how to proceed; Corrin states that their small, powerful, nimble force should take their chances with Mount Garou, to which Ryoma asks Kaze to guide them to the best possible entry point.
As we witness Corrin, Ryoma, and Takumi arriving onto the slopes of Mount Garou, with Corrin in particular tired from the trek and comparing the trek with their trek up the Eternal Stairway, stating that the group need not worry about their physical conditioning; Ryoma states that the physical demands of Mount Garou's slopes aren't their only worry, then suggests to Corrin that they take a break, to which Corrin states that he/she is okay but notes that they've put some distance on the rest of their army and suggests that they give them a chance to catch up and rest. Ryoma states that he'll backtrack and alert the leaders of the trailing groups, then notices some enemies in the area, telling Corrin to watch out; three wolfskin appear, to which Corrin asks if they're monsters sent by Nohr, after which Ryoma explains who the wolfskin are, a tribe with shapeshifting abilities and the other hazard associated with crossing Mount Garou. The leader of the wolfskin, Keaton, asks Corrin what his/her army are doing in his den, to which Corrin asks Keaton who he is; Keaton introduces himself and states that they can't have his fur--a previous group of humans had come for his fur, and he ended up collecting their bones instead, to which Ryoma confirms Keaton does indeed have a collection of human bones. Corrin explains to Keaton that his/her group are not after Keaton's fur but are merely passing through the area, and even asks the rest of the group to put down their weapons; Ryoma and Takumi have initial doubts, but they eventually go through with Corrin's plan, which convinces Keaton to let Corrin's group through. Right as Corrin thanks Keaton for his generosity, one of the other wolfskin is killed by a previously-set dark magic trap; Corrin asks his/her group to get down, noticing that the explosion is from the same kind of energy unleashed by the Ganglari and asks if they've been set up by Garon again. Keaton attempts to rouse his fallen comrade, then deduces that Corrin was responsible for setting off the dark magic trap, to which Corrin denies but Keaton vowing the same fate to Corrin's army that befell the wolfskin hit by the dark magic trap; Keaton attempts to attack Corrin, but Kaze arrives on the scene and defends him/her. Kaze suggests that Corrin mobilize the army or else suffer heavy losses, with Keaton vowing to not let any of Corrin's army through alive; Corrin sees that they have no choice and begs the wolfskin for forgiveness for the ensuing battle. Preparations take place at this point; the battle begins once preparations are complete.
Once the battle ends, Corrin states that they owe the surviving wolfskin an apology as they can't undo what happened in the battle as meaningless one may assume it to have been; Kaze states that they're not at fault and asks Corrin not to be hard on himself/herself, to which Corrin states that he'll/she'll never forgive himself/herself and that this is another burden he/she will have to carry, to which Kaze states he'll offer to carry that burden along with him/her. The remainder of the chapter plays out differently depending on Corrin's support relationship with Kaze.
Corrin/Kaze at A- or S-rank
Kaze vows to remain at Corrin's side at times like this, to which Corrin thanks Kaze and states that his words mean a lot to him/her. The ground begins to shake and a landslide starts to form underneath them with Corrin starting to slide into a ravine, with Kaze catching him/her; Corrin asks Kaze to let go of him/her or else they'll both fall, to which Kaze states that he won't let Corrin die and thus won't let him/her go. Kaze then spots a purple crystal in the ravine and tells Corrin that he's going to try something and asks Corrin to hold on tight; Kaze tosses a shuriken at the crystal, which causes the crystal to explode and the force of the explosion to blow Kaze and Corrin toward safety. After they land, Kaze asks Corrin if he/she is all right, to which Corrin confirms and then asks Kaze what he did; Kaze states that he didn't have many options and didn't know what would happen, after which Corrin states that Kaze should have let him/her go and saved himself, to which Kaze states that he was willing to sacrifice himself to ensure Corrin's safety. Azura arrives on the scene and asks Corrin and Kaze if they're both okay having heard the crystal explode, to which Corrin confirms and reveals that Kaze saved them both; Azura states that she feared the worst, and that they should stay alert even though they're out of danger for the time being.
Having reached the summit of Mount Garou, Ryoma asks Corrin how he/she is faring, to which Corrin states that he.she is still upset over what happened with the wolfskin as well as his/her and Kaze's near-death experiences, with Ryoma stating that what happened with the wolfskin is another of the countless tragedies they've witnessed as of late; Ryoma then asks Corrin if he/she can see the sun over the horizon, to which Corrin confirms, after which Ryoma states that it's often said that the sun never shines in Nohr but now sees that it's not true, and that they can take this as a good omen. Corrin notes the sun's warmth as the same as having walked in the streets of Hoshido, and that he/she someday hopes both Hoshido and Nohr can someday share this warmth, to which Ryoma states that anything is possible; the player may now save their game at this point.
Corrin/Kaze at B-rank or lower
Kaze asks Corrin if he/she would allow him to serve him/her, to which Corrin asks Kaze what he means; Kaze explains how elite Hoshidan soldiers pledge themselves to a royal liege, then names the examples with Corrin's Hoshidan siblings (Subaki and Hana with Sakura, Hinata and Oboro with Takumi, Azama and Setsuna with Hinoka, Kagero and Saizo with Ryoma). Corrin deduces that he/she is the only one left Kaze could pledge himself to and apologizes, to which Kaze states that he feels blessed to have remained unattached as he can now pledge his loyalty to Corrin; Corrin asks Kaze if he's sure, to which Kaze notices how Corrin has made some tough decisions yet is the right leader in a time of crisis, then reveals that he's done something to him/her that can never be forgiven. Corrin states that he/she doesn't know what Kaze is talking about, to which Kaze states that it happened when Corrin was much younger; as Kaze starts to explain, the ground begins to shake and a landslide starts to form underneath them with Corrin starting to slide into a ravine, with Kaze catching him/her.
Corrin asks Kaze to let go of him/her or else they'll both fall, to which Kaze states that he'd never live with himself if he did so as he already owes him/her his life--he's the reason Corrin was kidnapped by the Nohrians; Kaze reveals that he was travelling with Corrin on that fateful day in Cheve when he noticed an unusual Nohrian troop presence, but that he was young and didn't know the threat they posed, stating that he could have prevented everything had he spoken up, to which Corrin tells Kaze that he couldn't have known and that it's not his fault things transpired the way they did. Kaze wishes he could believe Corrin and states that he was raised in a family of ninja and thus should have known better back then, and thus owes Corrin a lifetime of service but states that all he can offer is his sacrifice; Corrin attempts to talk Kaze out of doing something foolish, after which Hinoka arrives on the scene and asks Corrin and Kaze to hang in there, with Corrin calling for Hinoka's help and Hinoka stating that she's headed their way. As the ground shakes again, Kaze tells Corrin that it's been a pleasure serving him/her and tells Hinoka that she knows what she has to do, throwing Corrin toward Hinoka; Hinoka catches Corrin, while Kaze continues to slip down the cliff and asks Corrin for forgiveness stating that he is only doing what is necessary. The cliff breaks off completely and causes Kaze to fall down with it to his death; Corrin and Hinoka, in disbelief over being unable to save Kaze, cry out toward him.
Having reached the summit of Mount Garou, Ryoma asks Corrin how he/she is faring, to which Corrin states that he/she is still in disbelief over having lost Kaze, with Ryoma stating that this is another of the countless tragedies they've witnessed as of late; Ryoma then asks Corrin if he/she can see the sun over the horizon, to which Corrin confirms, after which Ryoma states that it's often said that the sun never shines in Nohr but now sees that it's not true, and that they can take this as a good omen. Corrin notes the sun's warmth as the same as having walked in the streets of Hoshido, and that perhaps Kaze's spirit is watching them from another world, to which Ryoma states that anything is possible; Corrin thanks Kaze for saving him/her and promises that he won't have died in vain. The player may now save their game at this point.
Reconvergence point
Upon returning to My Castle, Lilith asks Corrin if she could have a moment of his/her time, then reveals that a familiar face has come to see him/her. Jakob/Felicia appears and states that he/she see that Corrin is doing well, and that he/she could not rest until they found him/her once word reached to him/her that Corrin went missing, stating he/she been traveling across dimensional barriers and states that now that he's/she's by Corrin's side again, that he'll/she'll now fight alongside him/her. Jakob/Felicia will now be available to the player's army at this point.
Summary
Corrin's army manages to break through the border, but control of the main route to the castle remains in Nohrian hands. Corrin seeks another path.
