Class

From Fire Emblem Wiki, your source on Fire Emblem information. By fans, for fans.

This page has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.

A class (Japanese: 兵種 or クラス class) is a certain property of any unit in the Fire Emblem series, used to denote that unit's abilities, fighting style, and role in combat. Every unit, playable, enemy, or neutral, fits into some kind of class. A unit's class determines what weapons it can wield, often what stats it has, and many other miscellaneous attributes. Some classes are only found on the player's side, some only as enemies, and some only as neutral characters.

Most units can change class to another, more powerful class after reaching certain requirements. Usually, a unit must go up to a certain level, such as 10 or 20, and use a special item. From Shadow Dragon onward, all titles feature some form of reclassing to allow a unit to switch from one class to another. Dismounting could, arguably, also be considered a type of class change.
