Fuga (Japanese: フウガ Fuuga) is a chieftain of Hoshido's Wind Tribe and a good friend of the late King Sumeragi's. Fuga is available as a playable character only in the Revelation campaign.
Biography
Fire Emblem Fates
Role
Birthright
Corrin and the Hoshidian army get into a skirmish during the Eternal Stairway against Wind Tribalists disguised as Faceless by Iago. Upon arriving at the Wind Tribe's village, two tribalists approach the group and announce their intentions to attack, after which Corrin explains Iago's deception to which the tribalists do not believe. When Sakura and Azura join in on Corrin's explanation, the tribalists decide to let Fuga make the ultimate decision, to which Corrin states that he/she would like to speak with Fuga, after which the tribalists state that they're going to have to engage in battle. During the battle, Fuga calls out toward the group and Corrin tries to explain what happened, but states that he will only listen to what Corrin has to say if he is defeated in battle.
Once the battle ends, Fuga states that Corrin has proven himself/herself worthy to explain his/her group's plight, first talking about Fuga's friendship with Sumeragi and with Corrin's skill with the Yato being why Fuga needed to put Corrin to the test; after Fuga explains a bit more about the Yato, he states that he knew Corrin didn't intend to attack innocents along the Eternal Stairway, but needed his forces to challenge Corrin's army anyway in order to prove their worthiness. After a short conversation, as part of a "mutual agreement", he allows Hayato to travel with Corrin.
Conquest
Corrin and the Nohrian army attempt to navigate the Wind Tribe's territory and find themselves constantly rebuffed, after revealing that their village was attacked long ago by Faceless sent there by Nohrian mages. Fuga arrives on the scene, and states that he can see the determination in Corrin's eyes, after which Corrin asks him to introduce himself, to which he introduces himself as the chieftain of the Wind Tribe; Corrin states that he/she had no idea about Fuga's position and introduces himself/herself as a prince/princess of Nohr and asks to request an audience with him, to which Fuga states that he was informed of outsiders at the entrance to the village posing as Nohrian royalty. Fuga states that it must have taken great courage for Nohrian royalty to face him, and states that he will hear what they have to say, but only at his castle Reppu.
After Corrin finishes his/her explanation, Fuga states that he believes Corrin's aim and will allow his/her army to pass through his village just this once and will alert the villagers that the army are welcomed guests who are not to be disturbed, to which Corrin thanks Fuga; the talk about the Yato then resumes and Fuga reveals that he was once close friends with the Hoshidan king Sumeragi many years ago. He also tells them that Sumeragi told him that the Yato would bring peace, but if in the wrong hands, would destroy the world. Fuga then challenges Corrin for a battle, stating that he will take up the Yato if they are unworthy of using it. Upon noticing two more divine weapons, Siegfried and Brynhildr, he states that this will be a truly legendary fight and rounds up his best fighters, including Hayato, to battle them on top of castle Reppu.
After the battle, Fuga states that Corrin and his/her army fought bravely and that Corrin is worthy of wielding the Yato and that the Yato chose its wielder well. He leaves with Hayato to show the Nohrian army the way to the Eternal Stairway.
Revelation
Similar to the Birthright route, Corrin and the group accidentally kill members of the Wind Tribe who appeared to be Faceless due to an illusion. They proceed to deduce that the may have fallen into a trap and that they should head for the Wind Tribe's village to explain what happened. Corrin is confronted by Fuga. who states that word of Corrin's plight has reached him, deducing that he/she has chosen to side with neither Nohr nor Hoshido and instead wishes to destroy both kingdoms, and has chosen to start with the Wind Tribe by attacking his brethren. Corrin attempts to explain that their true goal is to stop an unseen threat, to which Fuga states that he does not believe Corrin's explanation and calls Tribalists to attack Corrin's army, but Rinkah suddenly appears and vouches for Corrin's sincerity, prompting Fuga to test Corrin's abilities to see if they are worthy of their character.
Once the battle ends, Corrin apologizes for what happened along the Eternal Stairway to which Fuga accepts, then begins talking about the Yato and Fuga's friendship with Sumeragi, after Fuga explains a bit more about the Yato, he states that Izana should be even more familiar with the subject of the Yato. Fuga states that he will offer aid to Corrin's army and offers the services of one of his diviners, Hayato.
