The Fire Mage (ファイアマージ, Faia Maaji, or 炎魔道士, Honoo Madoushi, meaning "fire mage") class is a fire magic-using class that appears in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. It is an enemy-only class, even though there are playable characters with the Thunder Mage and Wind Mage classes. Still, in Radiant Dawn, Tormod and Calill are both fire sages.

Fire mages are not very strong, as they are only basic class. Their main strength is magic, but they have very low defense. They can be threatening to units with low resistance, as their magic will do much damage. Additionally, fire mages have above-average skill and speed, unlike most enemies. Regardless, they are not very hard to defeat.

In Genealogy of the Holy War, they are an enemy-only class, but if one were playable, presumably, a fire mage would become a mage fighter, like the Thunder Mage and Wind Mage classes of that game. Finally, in Radiant Dawn, they are still enemy-only, but they probably promote to the Fire Sage class, and then can further promote to the Archsage class.

Class change

  • Note: The Fire Mage class is an enemy-only class. Therefore, these promotions never actually happen in-game; they are only what probably would happen if they were playable.
