Distant Ward is a passive type A skill which debuted in Fire Emblem Heroes; unlike most passive skills in Heroes, Distant Ward comes in only one tier. Contrary to what its name implies, Distant Ward does not deal specifically with range-2 targets; Distant Ward boosts its wielder's Attack and Resistance during combat when a target wielding a red tome, blue tome, green tome, staff, or any color of breath skill initiates combat against its wielder, and also allows its wielder to counterattack regardless of its target's range.
