Mine is an item first introduced in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. The purpose of a Mine is to set it onto a space. Once a unit from either side walks onto the space with the Mine set on it, that unit will stop moving and take 10 damage.
The Mine's only proper appearance is in Blazing Sword; there is an item called the Frey Bomb in unused data in Radiant Dawn that was basically intended to be the Mine under a different name. The Frey Bomb in Radiant Dawn has no functionality programmed.

Trivia
- The Mine is the subject of a glitch in Blazing Sword. If a unit on the enemy side triggers the Mine, the player can soft-reset or turn off the system while the animation goes on. Upon returning to the game, the player should then be able to control the remaining enemy units for the rest of the turn (or soft-resetting/powering-down). Despite The Sacred Stones not making use of the Mine's assets, that game includes a variation of this glitch involving certain terrain behaviors.
