Help:Naming images
This page details how to properly name images. Please follow these standards when uploading images!
If you are still not sure what to do, just ask an admin, by Skype or on their talk page.
Artwork
All official artwork, such as character portraits should be named in the format:
File:FE<game abbreviation> <character name>.png
For example, the portrait of Neimi of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is named "FESS Neimi.png".
Abbreviations used:
Battle animations
All battle animations should be named in one of the three following formats:
- For playable characters:
File:ba fe<game number> <character name> <character name> <weapon>.gif
- For standard enemies:
File:ba fe<game number> enemy <enemy class> <weapon>.gif
- For special enemies:
File:ba fe<game number> enemy <character name> <character class> <weapon>.gif

Battle sprites
All battle sprites, or the sprites for characters in actual combat, should be named in one of the three following formats:
- For playable characters:
File:bs fe<game number> <character name> <character name> <weapon>.png
- For standard enemies:
File:bs fe<game number> enemy <enemy class> <weapon>.png
- For special enemies:
File:bs fe<game number> enemy <character name> <character class> <weapon>.png
Numbers used:
Item sprites
Item sprites, or the nice little images besides the name of weapons or items, should be named in the format:
File:is <console code> <weapon/item name>.png
For example, the sprite for Grafcalibur, Asvel's personal tome, is called "Is snes03 grafcalibur.png".
Codes used:
Map animations
All map animations should be named in one of these two formats:
File:ma <console code> <class> enemy.gif
or
File:ma <console code> <class> playable.gif
Currently, we are only working with enemy units. When animations for playable units are needed, we will tell so.

Maps
All maps should be named in the format:
File:cm fe<game number> <chapter number>.png
For example, the map for Cog of Destiny in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, is called "Cm fe07 27.png".
Numbers used:
Portraits
All portraits should be named in one of the two following formats:
File:Portrait <character name> fe<game number>.png
or
File:Small portrait <character name> fe<game number>.png
Small portraits are present only from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade on. The former games have only one kind of portrait.

Screenshots
All screenshots should be named in the format:
File:ss fe<game number> <brief description>.png
For example, the displayed image, which shows Elen fighting against a sniper, is called "Ss fe06 elen casting lightning.png".

Before clicking on "Upload file", you should add the corresponding category in the Summary box.
