Defense/Resistance Ruse (Japanese: 守備魔防の大共謀 Great Defense/Resistance Conspiracy) is a three-tiered passive type B skill which debuted in Fire Emblem Heroes; the individual tiers of the skill are known as Def/Res Ruse 1, Def/Res Ruse 2, and Def/Res Ruse 3 in order from lowest to highest. Units with a Def/Res Ruse skill, when the user is either the user or recipient of a rally assist skill, drastically drops both the Defense and Resistance of enemies in cardinal directions of both allies involved through their following actions and inflicts the Guard status on those same enemies, slowing their special cooldown per attack by -1; the size of the Defense and Resistance drops are affected by the skill's tier.
