Vander: You are mistaken, Prince Alfred. If there is blame to cast, I bear as much as you. More, in fact, as I was her retainer. So you see, you have nothing to apologize for.
Alfred: But I…
Vander: Without your presence, Prince Alfred, our losses may have been even greater. As I see it, I have ample reason to thank you and none to resent you.
Alfred: Well, if you say so. Happy to help. Hey, uh, is it OK with you if I visit again?
Vander: Of course. Let us share stories of happier times with Queen Lumera.
Alfred: Happier times, huh?
Vander: Indeed. I think Queen Lumera would prefer that to brooding over our failures, don't you?

Alfred: When I was little, Queen Lumera gave me flowers for my birthday. They were these real pretty white flowers. Couldn't tell you what they were called.
Vander: Windflowers, most likely. Queen Lumera was especially passionate about growing them.
Alfred: Windflowers. I'll have to remember that.
Vander: Queen Lumera once made a gift of windflowers for me as well.
Alfred: Oh, was it your birthday too?
Vander: No. There was nothing special about the occasion.
Alfred: Oh. Hmm. Maybe it was her way of saying, "Good work, my loyal retainer!"
Vander: Perhaps. Such gestures were typical of our queen. The garden where she tended her windflowers was trampled into mud during the battle. Thinking about it now, I wish I had spent more time with the queen.
Alfred: Well, we all have regrets. Nothing to do with them but keep moving forward. It's up to us now to keep our people safe. Just like Queen Lumera used to.

Alfred: What's up, Vander? Your invite caught me a little off guard.
Vander: Have a look at this.
Alfred: Are these windflowers? A whole garden full… but why here?
Vander: I thought it would be a waste for them to grow only within the castle. I planted what I could find of them here, so that everyone may enjoy them. I must admit…I didn't expect them to thrive quite so much.
Alfred: Heh heh, they're some real good-looking windflowers, I'll give you that. When I gaze at them, I have the strangest feeling that Queen Lumera is here at my side.
Vander: I know just what you mean. I wanted you to see the windflowers too, Prince Alfred.
Alfred: Thanks. It means a lot, you know. Once we get our peace back, why don't you and me plant even more windflowers here?
Vander: Yes. We shall plant them together.
Alfred: And this time, we'll make sure the garden stays safe. That way, Queen Lumera can watch over her people from here.
Vander: It is as she would wish, Prince Alfred.

Vander: I do not waste my time on folklore and fluff.
Amber: Oh. So that's a no? Gotcha. I guess I'll just poke around and see if I find anything.
Vander: Actually...I suppose there is one surefire way to obtain a legendary weapon.
Amber: Really?! What is it? How can I get my hands on one? Please, Vander! You've gotta tell me.
Vander: Think. What is a legendary weapon, essentially?
Amber: Huh?
Vander: For a weapon to become a legend, a legendary hero must wield it first. Right?
Amber: Huh... Yeah, I guess that makes sense.
Vander: Well then, Sir Amber, all you must do is attain the moniker of legendary hero.
Amber: A legendary hero? Me? Yeah. Yeah! If I pull that off, my trusty lance...
Vander: It would become a legendary weapon. Correct.
Amber: WHOA-HO-HO-HOOO! Vander! You just blew my mind! I'm gonna do
exactly that. My legend starts right now!

Amber: Hnh... Hah... Not done yet... Have to...train more.
Vander: Well, well. How nice to see you working up a sweat at such an early hour, Sir Amber.
Amber: You bet. I've got to grow as strong as I can. I have to become a legend, just like you said. Then my lance will be a legendary weapon.
Vander: He took my brush-off seriously? He is either truly devoted...or a fool.
Amber: Hm? You say something?
Vander: I was, um, just wondering why you desire a legendary weapon so badly.
Amber: I grew up in a dull country town. Nothing to do, nothing to see. Stories were my only escape. My favorite was about this one hero who used a legendary weapon to defeat a giant monster.
Vander: Hmm...
Amber: I think about that story all the time. I want to be a hero like that...so I need a legendary weapon.
Vander: I see. If you are so dedicated, then...why not train with me?
Amber: Really?! You mean it? I would love that! You're so strong and cool-looking. I bet you do all kinds of crazy training.
Vander: Hmph. Just try to keep up. I will not hold back for your sake, "hero."

Vander: Struggling already, hero? These are but core exercises. We have not even begun the sprints.

Pandreo: I just want to say that as a man of the cloth, I hold you in the highest regard. I would give my left arm for such an honorable station—in the Holy Land, no less.
Vander: Keep flattering me and you may lose an ear instead. I'll talk it off with my old war stories.
Pandreo: Please do! I'd love to hear what it was like.
Vander: Certainly. Though, perhaps we should find a more appropriate place to talk.
Pandreo: Why don't you come to my next party? That ought to be a suitable setting.
Vander: Hm. I'm not usually one for parties.
Pandreo: Oh, I'm sure you'll fit right in. It's a small gathering at the church. Young adherents praying for peace—some pious singing and dancing. That sort of thing.
Vander: Worship through song and dance? Why, that sounds marvelous.
Pandreo: I see it as my clerical duty to help people find comfort in these difficult times.
Vander: I understand. You put on these get-togethers as a kind of service to your congregants.
Pandreo: Exactly! So, would you care to join us?

Vander: Of course not! This creaky back of mine would snap if I cavorted around like that!
Pandreo: Still, I appreciate your open-mindedness. In the early days, some followers would complain.
Vander: Did they now?
Pandreo: Yes. People in Solm don't tend towards religion. The church used to be, ah, ill-attended. Then I had an idea that turned things around.
Vander: To make church more like a party.
Pandreo: Exactly! If you want people to listen, you have to speak in a language they understand.
Vander: You worked hard to rebuild your church. I apologize for calling it a circus. Though...unorthodox, your methods have clearly bought in new worshippers. I appreciate that.
Pandreo: That is high praise coming from you, Sir Vander.
Vander: Yes, well. Perhaps more flexible thinking is just what the world needs right now.
