Ta-da! Making their long-awaited arrival, it’s Askr’s famous brother-sister duo! That’s right, it’s me and Alfonse, all dressed up for the New Year celebrations!	What do you think of our outfits? They’re just like what they wear in Hoshido! We look great, right? Right!?	Oh, and did you notice the spinning top I’ve got there? It’s actually called a koma, and it’s part of a New Year tradition—you spin a koma to see what the coming year will be like, and the longer it spins, the better the year will be!	Me and Alfonse are over the moon about getting to start the year in style like this. Happy New Year, Alfonse! Happy New Year, Askr!

It’s actually a sign that he’s taking part in the festival!	In our family, we celebrate the Day of Devotion by giving each other flowers. It looks like he’s got a whole bouquet for this year’s celebrations!	You know, I hear that Alfonse is also planning to give flowers to Líf, the swordsman from the realm of the dead. Seems like everyone’s going to get to join in the fun this year!

The Day of Devotion is a yearly occurrence, but it’s not without its surprises. And speaking of which, my mother, Queen Henriette of Askr, is joining this year’s celebrations in a special outfit of her own!	I have to say, the outfit she’s wearing really highlights her charming, lively personality! And I just love how she’s decorated her fig leaf crown with flowers!	We all give each other flowers every Day of Devotion, and that’s what the vase she’s carrying is for. She’s really been looking forward to this! Oh, and speaking of presents, the crown she’s wearing is actually from Father. They have a tradition of trading crowns every year.	You know, I saw them sharing a moment earlier and I was tempted to surprise them…but I think that they deserve a little time to themselves every now and then!

An inspired, whimsical choice by someone who’s always been so cool and aloof!	The mask he wears may hide his expression, but I’m sure he’s smiling on the inside.

Veronica’s coming to the pirate festival in Askr, and she’s joined by Xander!	The two don’t have much firsthand knowledge of pirates, so Xander suggested that some familiarization was in order. That’s why Veronica’s wearing a pirate outfit of her very own!	Well, what do you think? They look great, if you ask me! In fact, they almost look too glamorous to be pirates!	While Bruno’s been away, it’s been up to Xander to support Veronica. I’m sure it’ll be easy for such a resourceful pair to get over their initial unfamiliarity and have a blast at the festival!

Veronica, the princess of Embla, is making an appearance at the Day of Devotion celebrations this year. Doesn’t she look great?	She’s wearing a super-cute outfit for the festival, complete with a fig leaf crown. You might also notice that her crown is decorated with roses, which are commonly worn to show you’re taking part in the festival!	The vase Veronica is carrying contains a bouquet of flowers that I suspect are for Thrasir. She’s probably saving some for Bruno and Xander as well, but they couldn’t make it to this year’s celebration.	I’m sure the affairs of Embla must give Veronica a lot to think about, but I hope that she can take her mind off her worries for a little while and enjoy the fun of the festival!

Here’s Nifl, the god of ice. Her name probably sounds familiar to you, and that’s because she’s the creator of the kingdom of ice that shares her name! The people of the kingdom look to her for strength and guidance.	True to her domain, Nifl’s demeanor is as cool as ice, and she abhors change, instead preferring things that persist eternally. She sees tranquility as an unchanging constant, and desires peace over war and conflict.	That does beg the question of why she’s been in conflict with Múspell, the god of flame, for so long! Well, just as Nifl desires peace, Múspell hungers for war… So I guess there’s no room for compromise there.	In order to save her kingdom, Fjorm sacrificed her life to the Rite of Frost to receive Nifl’s power and restore peace to the realm. I just hope it really will last forever…

I see her ice-cold nature shows no sign of thawing—even with the sun beating down on us, Nifl’s not even breaking a sweat!	And of course, she’s carrying a huge serving of shaved ice with her. It’s not just any old shaved ice, though—it’s imbued with her divine power, and one mouthful is enough to cool both the body and the soul! I wonder what it tastes like…	Nifl has said she doesn’t care for hot places, and she’s certainly looking as cool and aloof as ever, but something tells me she’s enjoying the vacation just the same. Well, if my hunch is right, I hope she takes this opportunity to hit the beach this summer!

After the attack by Múspell, the Kingdom of Flame, the surviving members of the royal family were scattered. But even still, Hríd struck out alone to take on Surtr, the king of Múspell, and try to restore peace to Nifl.	No matter how dire the situation is, Hríd never gives up. That's the kind of spirit that makes him a Legendary Hero!

Ylgr, the youngest of the princesses of Nifl, has come to join the fun at our summer vacation!	Isn’t her swimsuit cute? …It’s too cute! I’m not equipped to deal with this much cuteness at once!	Ylgr can’t hide how excited she is about her first day at the beach. I hear she’s brought a whole bunch of things along, so she can catch up on all the summer activities she’s been missing out on!	I don’t think there’s anything that says “family summer fun” more than the sight of her together with Gunnthrá. Sigh… Wish I had a cute little sister instead of Alfonse.

Múspell had long been embroiled in conflict with the ice god Nifl—a ceaseless battle between the unstoppable flames of change and the impassive chill of eternal stillness.
