Hel (Japanese: ヘル Hel) is a character appearing in Fire Emblem Heroes. She is the primary antagonist of Book III and ruler of the Zenith underworld, known as Hel, luring those who have died and are unworthy of greater reward into her realm.
Fire Emblem Heroes
Role
Hel first appeared in Xenologue 4, welcoming Surtr into her realm and stating her intentions to take his power for herself. She also states her intention to bring the Order of Heroes into her realm in due time, after Surtr claims that they could potentially have the strength to provide opposition.
In Book III, Hel gives Eir the order to infiltrate the surface world and kill its inhabitants when the time is right. She also sends her generals, Líf and Thrasir, in order to battle the Order of Heroes. Later, Hel ventures to the surface world to battle the Order personally, alongside Tibarn, Nailah, and Leanne. After her defeat, Hel places a curse on Alfonse that would kill him in nine days.
After nine days have passed, Hel appears before Alfonse to deliver her judgment, but his father, Gustav, takes the blow meant for him, as the curse was tied to the victim's bloodline, and dies as a result. She revives Gustav as a general for her army and forces him to fight against the Order against his will. After Gustav's second demise, Hel attempts to curse Alfonse again, but this time, Alfonse shows no fear by declaring that he would use the nine days to find Hel's weakness. When Eir is on her own, Hel appears to Eir to remind her of her mission, then departs.
