The '''Spear''' (Japanese: {{hl|スレンドスピア|Surendosupia}} ''Slender Spear'') is a rare ranged [[Lance (weapon)|lance]] which was introduced in {{FE6}}. It is the most powerful of the ordinary throwing lances, able to attack at both close and distant range. However, it is conversely much rarer than the two lesser ranged lances, the [[Javelin]] and [[Short Spear]], and is entirely unavailable to the player in ''The Binding Blade'' and ''New Mystery of the Emblem''. Unusually for a lance, the {{title|Fates}} version of the Spear is capable of attack at only 2 range.

In {{FE7}}, [[Vaida]] wields a unique modified version of this weapon in her appearance as a boss in [[Unfulfilled Heart|Chapter 24E/26H]], which provides its wielder with significant stat boosts. This particular Spear is usually referred to as "Vaida's Spear" or the "Uberspear" by fan communities, is unobtainable in legitimate gameplay and as such is often sought after through use of the game's [[enemy control glitch]]. When she is [[recruitment|recruited]] later in the game, however, she instead wields a normal Spear which gives no stat bonuses.
