The first unit you recruit in the game is the lord, Lyn. She performs well in her own tale due to an abundance of inaccurate brigands, but later on her Strength is shaky and her durability is terrible, hampering her offensive prowess.
When playing on Normal mode, this chapter is a scripted tutorial. The game will guide the player though every step and explain the basic mechanics of the game including movement, attacking, healing, and seizing the throne. Every player will get the same result, and death is impossible.

On Hard mode, this chapter is no longer a tutorial, and victory is not guaranteed. However, the level is still simple enough to beat using a series of steps. First, move towards the brigand - he will not be in range to attack you next phase. Then, move towards the boss, Batta, and ignore the brigand. The brigand will attack next phase, and there is a chance Lyn will be hit. If Lyn is hit then move in front of Batta and use a Vulnerary; otherwise, simply move in front of Batta and wait. It is important that you do not immediately attack the boss, or else there is a possibility of losing Lyn. Batta and the brigand will attack next phase and Lyn will kill the brigand. If you were hit by either enemy then use another Vulnerary; otherwise, wait another turn. Batta will attack again, but will also be one hit away from death. Attack the next turn and then seize the throne.

Attack the next turn and then seize the throne. If you want to S-rank Lyn's mode, you want to complete the map as fast as possible and avoid using your Vulnerary. This means you need a little luck to ensure you dodge the axemen's attacks, and you're going to have to attack Batta on turn 3 to kill him as fast as possible. Done optimally, this map can be completed in 5 turns.
